Mrs. Babita Makker is working as the Dean at GGS College of Modern Technology. She has experience of 20 years as a Dean. Having worked in the education sector for a long time, she wants to contribute towards the development of the students. Read here what she has to say in her interview.

What interests you to work for the education sector?

“My vision is to provide the quality of education and training”

We focus on not only providing academic facilities to the students but also for research and corporate experiences in industries. Being the dean of the college, students are the priority for me and I stand by them for their growth and welfare. It’s my dream to see my students in good positions and starting their ventures.

What are your views on the New Education Policy?

“New education policy aims to improve the education’s quality”

It’s a good move by the government and there are a lot of changes in it which were needed for the hour. Especially in considering global changes. There is an interaction between parents and teachers. Where parents are also trained on various parameters. A family must know what the requirements of a child and grooming are.

What are your views on online education?

“Students are now becoming self-dependent and smart enough to manage their work”

Due to covid, things have changed drastically and now the dependency on online education has increased more than ever. Students from remote areas are also in need of the hour to study online and get their classes on this platform. Students are now becoming self-dependent and smart enough to manage their work in online classes and however, the change is seen in such a manner that they earlier used phones for games and now they use them for education.

How is the institution planning to adapt to online classes?

“We believe in delivering our best no matter on which medium”

As we have students from Jammu Kashmir and other remote areas where there is a little bit of a problem with the internet we have come up with a whiteboard application where students can access the classes and have notes in various formats. Teachers are coming to the classrooms daily and they are imparting classes physically from here and students are taking them online through these mediums.

What do you see as the institution's greatest strength?

“My students are the greatest strength”

If students are happy they're getting complete services and they're placed in their academic profession. It gives immense pleasure seeing our students doing wonders and these are the greatest strengths. Besides that, good planning and team members are also the strengths of our Institute.

What is your philosophy of leadership?

“Leader should be a good team manager and punctual”

If I am not planned and punctual, I cannot do the same from my team. One should always be on their toes so that similar things can be expected from the team as well. Opinions and considerations of the members should also be taken into regard while making decisions. The team is the core strength of an organization.

Any advice you would like to give your students and the other aspiring students?

“Enjoy your life, be regular, and be smart!”

This is the right time to focus and fix your career ahead and give heads up for all the challenges. Along with all this, have social responsibilities and do some efforts for the underprivileged ones. Must have respect for the seniors and regard for the juniors as well.
