BITS Pilani Received INR 60 Crore Grant through SATHI Project for Advanced Research Facilities

New Delhi: BITS Pilani and its cluster partners have received the central government’s Sophisticated Analytical and Technical Help Institute (SATHI) project grant of INR 60 crore. The grant was secured for the development of state-of-the-art facilities for advanced research. 

As per BITS Pilani, the funding will be used over the next four years. BITS Pilani’s cluster partner, all institutes in and around Rajasthan will be included in the project. The cluster partners who will be involved in this initiative are: 

• Council of Scientific And Industrial Research from Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute Pilani
• Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur
• JK Lakshmipat University Jaipur
• Vivekananda Global University Jaipur
• LNM Institute of Information Technology Jaipur

The BITS Pilani in collaboration with its cluster partners will develop an instrument facility that can be used for research in material sciences, device manufacturing and development, biopharmaceuticals, etc. 

After securing the grant, BITS Pilani’s next move is to establish a team that will look after engagements with the industry and instate collaborations between industry praxis and academic research. 

The development of advanced research facilities will also help bring together the worlds of research theory and practical know-how. The SATHI grant is a significant benchmark in BITS Pilani’s plans to receive INR 200 crore for research funding sponsorships by 2026.
