BITS Pilani and Mercedes-Benz R&D have collaborated to focus on improving the overall digital capabilities of India through research and innovations and creating a developed talent pool.
New Delhi: As per the latest updates, BITS Pilani has joined hands with Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India Private Limited (MBRDI) through a five-year Master Research Agreement (MRA). This collaboration aims to develop and advance technologies and explore opportunities in the mobility sector.
As a part of this collaboration, BITS and Mercedes-Benz R&D will share their facilities for various research and innovation activities, advise research students, secure co-funding, publish research papers and protect intellectual property. The focus will be on joint R&D projects, academic and professional events, and facilitating exchanges of researchers and students.

Key Areas of Research
BITS and Mercedes-Benz R&D will focus on various areas of research, including software development with a focus on data and AI, electric mobility, and transformative technologies such as generative AI. A few such projects are currently progressing under the guidance of Prof. Poonam Goyal, Prof. Amit R Singh, and Prof. Navneet Goyal.
This partnership with Mercedes-Benz R&D will focus on improving the overall digital capabilities of India and creating a strong and developed talent pool with the help of industry-academia collaboration and other initiatives.
