Wiley signs a four-year open access agreement with BITS Pilani to ensure the availability of resources from 2024 to 2027 in BITS Pilani. Under the partnership, researchers from BITS Pilani will gain access to Wiley’s Journals.

New Delhi: Wiley, a prominent global publisher renowned for its contributions to research and education, has entered into a four-year open-access agreement with BITS Pilani. From 2024 to 2027, this collaboration seeks to ensure the availability of resources for BITS Pilani.

Under this partnership, scholars and researchers affiliated with BITS Pilani will gain access to Wiley's journals, comprising nearly 2,000 titles encompassing both hybrid and fully gold open-access publications. Additionally, researchers from BITS Pilani can publish open-access articles in Wiley's journal collection.

Expressing his views on the collaboration, Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Vice-Chancellor of BITS Pilani, emphasised the objective of creating an open science culture through this partnership.

He highlighted the pivotal role of open-access publishing in advancing scientific progress and facilitating collaboration among researchers, aligning with BITS Pilani's commitment to open scholarship and academic publishing standards.

Ritesh Kumar, Country Leader for Wiley in India, echoed the sentiment, affirming Wiley's dedication to expanding the accessibility of open-access publishing. Kumar emphasised India's strategic importance to Wiley and the organisation's efforts to promote research dissemination and collaboration through open-access initiatives.
