New Delhi: ARKA JAIN University was established in the year 2017 by the Jharkhand State Legislature under “The ARKA JAIN University Act” and is recognized by UGC. It is the first state private university in the Kolhan region (comprising of three districts) of the state.

ARKA JAIN University has its root in the prestigious JAIN Group, Bengaluru which has 77-plus educational institutions under its fold and is mentored by JAIN (Deemed-to-Be-University), Bengaluru, a NAAC A and NIRF Top-100 HEI.

The university has the necessary affiliations, recognitions and memberships from such bodies as AICTE, BCI, PCI, OCI, INC, AIU. It is an ISO-certified “Educational Organization Management System” University. It has been ranked 3rd in the “Top-15 Emerging Private Universities in India” category in the prestigious Outlook iCare Ranking 2023.

Out of 4000 total marks, ARKA JAIN University scored 3150 marks. The University got Institutional CGPA of 3.15 out of 4.

A total of 1000 weightage points are allotted (which is further multiplied by 4 thus leading to a total of 4000 marks) whose break-up is mentioned in front of all the seven parameters. Further, the marks scored in each criterion, total marks, percentage of marks scored and Criterion GPA (CrGPA) has been mentioned against each criterion.

Out of the seven parameters, the University performed as follows:

Criterion One is Curricular aspects having a weightage of 150 points (and a total of 600 marks). The university scored 525 out of the possible 600 marks thus leading to 87.5% percentage and getting CrGPA of 3.5 out of 4,

Criterion Two is Teaching-learning and Evaluation having a weightage of 200 points (and a total of 800 marks). The university scored 594 out of the possible 800 marks thus leading to 74.3% percentage and getting CrGPA of 2.97 out of 4,

Criterion Three is Research, Innovation and Extension having a weightage of 250 points (and a total of 1000 marks). The university scored 683 out of the possible 1000 marks thus leading to 68.3% percentage and getting CrGPA of 2.97 out of 4,

Criterion Four is Infrastructure and Learning Resources having a weightage of 100 points (and a total of 400 marks). The university scored 337 out of the possible 400 marks thus leading to 84.3% percentage and getting CrGPA of 3.37 out of 4,

Criterion Five is Student Support and Progression having a weightage of 100 points (and a total of 400 marks). The university scored 364 out of the possible 400 marks thus leading to 91% percentage and getting CrGPA of 3.64 out of 4,

Criterion Six is Governance, Leadership & Management having a weightage of 100 points (and a total of 400 marks). The university scored 324 out of the possible 400 marks thus leading to 81% percentage and getting CrGPA of 3.24 out of 4.

Criterion Seven is Institutional values and Best Practices having a weightage of 100 points (and a total of 400 marks). The university scored 323 out of the possible 400 marks thus leading to 80.8% percentage and getting CrGPA of 3.23 out of 4.

As can be seen from the above, the university did its best in the criterion five, namely, student support and progression, getting more than 90% marks (364 out of 400) in it, thus highlighting its commitment towards the cause of the students on multiple levels.

The University applied for the NAAC accreditation process for the assessment period 2017-22 based on which the NAAC Peer Team visited the University during December 13-15, 2023 and the result was declared on February 22, 2024.

The University started preparing for the accreditation as soon as it completed five years since its establishment in the year 2017. It was after a rigorous preparation process that the university applied for the accreditation process in January 2023 by completing the IIQA. IIQA is a process which ascertains whether an institution is “accreditation ready" or not. Eligible HEIs seeking A&A are required to submit Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA) online. Further, based on the acceptance of IIQA by the NAAC, the University filled the Self-Study Report (SSR) in May 2023. Next, the University completed the DVV process in June 2023. The DVV or Data Validation And Verification in NAAC is a process of verification that verifies whether the submitted or uploaded data on the portal during the NAAC accreditation process is valid or not. This software-based process makes the NAAC accreditation process more transparent, authentic, and reliable. The University successfully completed this process within the stipulated period of time based on which the Peer Team Visit took place in December 2023 (dates mentioned above).
