New Delhi: Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has introduced BTech and MTech programs in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Admissions for both programs are currently open. Eligible candidates can apply for admission on the official website at amrita.edu.

As per Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, admission to BTech in AI and Data Science will be based on the marks scored in AEEE 2024. The last date to apply for the exam is June 9, 2024. The programs are offered at different Amrita Hospital campuses in Faridabad.

What is the Eligibility Criteria to Apply for Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's BTech and MTech in AI and Data Science Admission 2024?

To apply for BTech in AI and Data Science admission, a candidate must have passed 12th class or equivalent from a recognized board with at least 55% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics separately and an aggregate minimum of 60% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. The admission will be based on marks scored in AEEE 2024 or JEE Mains 2024.

For admission to MTech in AI and Data Science, the candidates must have completed B.E. / B. Tech. (Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Instrumentation ), MCA, MSc Computer Science, MSc Software Engineering.

Objective Behind this Program

Through these two courses, the university aims to prepare students for the AI industry. It realises that continuous skill development is essential due to the rapid evolution of AI technology. The program curriculum includes core computer science courses with advanced AI courses like Machine Learning, Linear Algebra, Probability, and Statistics.

Specialisations are offered in robotics, IoT, AR/VR, medical applications, and other areas. The university, through its collaboration with various universities like Stanford, and UC Davis, emphasises mini-projects using AR/VR in learning.

Views on BTech & MTech in AI and Data Science

Speaking further on this initiative, Prof. Kamal Bijlani, Dean, School of Artificial Intelligence, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, stated: “The importance of AI in education and industry has been growing steadily. With the advent of Generative AI and free AI tools in the market like ChatGPT (OpenAI, Microsoft), Gemini (Google), Llama (Meta) and others, the battle between the AI technology giants to gain the lead in Generative AI has intensified”.

“In this AI industrial revolution, every organisation will want to use AI tools to provide quick precise answers based on its own private data. To achieve this, organisations will need to add an AI team that provides AI tools and maintains its data on GPU-based private AI servers”, he further added.
