Paarth Sharma Review at Trinity College Dublin [TCD], Dublin | Collegedunia

Insider Report: Paarth Sharma

PS
7.5 /10

I appreciate the rigorous academic environment, cutting-edge curriculum, and access to advanced resources. The vibrant tech community fosters collaboration, and the faculty's expertise enhances my learning. The blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills prepares me for a dynamic career in the ever-evolving tech industry.

Course Curriculum :

The approach to teaching a subject is very hands on, apart from the lectures, every topic taught is supplemented by ample lab and experiment times.

Exams :

I had opted for a 2+2 year credit transfer program in Thapar in India. I had to maintain a CGPA of 8 out 10 or upwards to go to TCD. The limit has been reduced to 7 after a year or so. No documents required as I had opted for a credit transfer program. I credits I collected in Thapar were transferred over to Trinity for the first 2 years.

Placement :

Companies like AMD, Intel etc came for seminars. The CV clinic offers round the clock help to curate CVs and Resumes. I'm in third year currently so I can't offer any insight into the placement but I have heard the cell is involved at every step of the way and every conversation with a senior has supplemented this claim.

Internship :

Not yet, but I am in the process of applying to multiple companies and startups.

Fees :

1,10,00 euros/all 4 years.

Scholarship :

I did get a scholarship which was later worked into the agreement between TCD and Thapar and is now called a "subsidized fee" of 5000 Euros for 2 years.

Faculty :

Professors are available at all times for any guidance one might need. One professor teaches 50 (labs) - 250(lectures) children at any given time.

Campus Life :

Everything is top-notch, from ethereal infrastructure to cultural building like the Old Kells Library is on campus. A mix of olden architecture seamlessly merged with new more modern buildings with ample outdoor football/rugby grounds create a very serene campus. The research labs are fleshed out with the state of the art equipment and faculty support 24/7. The libraries are completely silent, autonomous and every possible book is available to issue. Wi-fi is 300-400 Mbps all around the campus.

Hostel :

First year - Trinity Hall, official residence for ALL FIRST YEARS. After the first year you will have to look for your own accommodations.
