Journey from India to Dublin

RB
7.5 /10

My journey to Trinity College Dublin was an unforgettable adventure that enriched my academic pursuits and left an indelible mark on my personal growth. Stepping onto the historic campus, I was immediately captivated by the blend of tradition and modernity that defines this institution. Living in Dublin itself was an integral part of my Trinity experience. The city's vibrant cultural scene, with its theaters, galleries, and lively pubs, ensured that there was always something exciting to explore during my downtime. The warm Irish hospitality made me feel welcomed and at home, even though I was thousands of miles away from my own.

Course Curriculum :

Course curriculums of TCD generally are of International standard with a focus on rising demand. Students can avail industrial exposure and research experience based on the course requirement.

Exams :

I am not a student at Trinity, I am working as a research fellow here. I submitted CV. Include your goal, educational qualifications, experience, expertise, award/achievements, and references. Yes, I had several round of interview with the Professor with whom I applied Marie-Curie Postdoctoral application as the host supervisor. Anyone wants to work with any Professor, he/she needs to go through informal/formal interview based on their qualifications/research.

Placement :

Student work placements take place in between February and April each year and are for one morning per week for a period of 8 weeks in TCD. TCD's graduate internships are usually for 6 months for up to a maximum of 20 hours per week. From the student / graduate point of view, the work placement / internship experience is of huge benefit in terms of increased independence and self-esteem. The skills developed go far beyond the daily tasks that the person is taught to complete.

Fees :

I am not student here again. However, I know that one year master costs around-€12-15 K, while two years course costs from €15-25 K, excluding the living expenses. Dublin is one of the highly expensive cities in Europe with high cost of living. Students can also find part-time jobs easily here for financial needs.

Scholarship :

Yes, I am working at Trinity College Dublin under Marie Sk?odowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship programme funded by European commission.

Faculty :

Trinity has an impressive faculty to student ratio of 9:1. All the faculty and staff are well versed and approachable by students. I have working with Prof. Michael G Monaghan, who is really helpful in shaping my career progress.

Campus Life :

Trinity has historical buildings and always an attraction for international tourists. It is located in the heart of the capital of Ireland-Dublin. So, there are enough scopes for entertainment in and around Dublin.

Hostel :

Dublin is one of the most expensive cities in Europe with high cost of living. For one person, the living costs is around €1100-1500 including shared accommodation, bills (electricity/wifi/phone), and grocery.
