RWTH Aachen University Rankings 2025

• Around 50-60% of students secure their job withing 6 month of getting the degree. Upon graduation, the average salary is around 50k-85k euros per month. There are no campus recruitments in the university so the common methods are to apply through company portals, through sharing your resumes to companies during job fairs, through internships, through networking with professors, etc.
• The placement experience is not that smooth, as each one of us have to apply to at least 20-50 positions to grab a good opportunity. Generally, people get jobs in the car industry looking for automation in various aspects including the EV sector. These companies include Mercedes, Audi, etc. Apart from it there are robotics industries as well. 

• We used an online college portal to get the university dorms (subsidized rates). Other than that, we could also find private accommodation mainly on Facebook groups or through student network. The monthly rent typically is around 300-450 euros per month, which generally includes room, kitchen, bathroom, balcony, furniture (in some cases)
• There were challenges related to language while finding the accommodation. If the flat mates are German, they would prefer someone who can speak German (which is fair). It is always preferred to start looking for accommodation at least one-two month before moving to Germany. Also, since the college does not have any campus, the institute buildings are spread around the city, there is no specific location which you should look for. However, still it's better to be at the center of the city and hence students can look for accommodation near Ponttor, Elisenbrunnen, Mensa academica, Halifaxstrasse, etc.

• There are plenty of openings that are posted on LinkedIn. Anyone put Germany in filters and get an idea about the market. A key suggestion to fulfill one of the major requirements would be to try to enter Germany with at least a B1 level of German and the rest depends on your skill set and ability to present and sell yourself in an interview. 50% of the batch usually secures a job within six months.
• The average salary would be 50K euros or above per year and really depends on your profile and past experience. So there is no solid, fixed number, just a rough estimate that I have mentioned above.
• Students apply on LinkedIn, the company's careers portals, company bonding events happening in a city or through the university career portal, etc. You can take the assistance of the business school career service team to refine your resume and cover letter and attend their workshops to hone your skills.
• I would say the lowest band is 45k euros per year and the highest would depend on your profile and performance. To keep this realistic, I could say the highest would be around 70-80k euros per year.

• You can use the university website to apply for student dorms, WG-Gesucht, and other relevant apps. Challenges would be that the process is highly time-consuming and fake ads. Make sure you pay the amount in person after coming here if you don't find the opportunity to be reliable.
• One suggestion would be to make friends in Aachen through LinkedIn who will be your senior so that he can assist you, guide you, recommend you, and possibly check the accommodation options if it's genuine.

• Mostly 50% of students will find jobs after graduation,  30% will continue research opportunities in the university itself, remaining 20% will flew to their countries back and find jobs there.
• The Average salary is about 65k Eur per year. 
• Attending various job fairs, approaching through referrals will be the process to get hired soon.
• We don't have any placement experiences yet since we were in our 1st semester. 
• Siemens, Nvidia, Bosch, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen. 

• I choose Off-Campus accommodation, since the price of On- Campus is high and the resources are limited. Initially through AISA housing group for Indians, later used WG Gesucht application to find accommodation. 
• My monthly rent will be 480 EUR with all amenities such as washmachine, dryer, electricity, gas, heater, wifi. 
• My suggestion would be to apply for Studentenwerk dorms at the beginning of the year. The prices would be cheaper compared to normal apartments.
• My accommodation is 3 kms from the university and easy accessibility of public transport, most Indians stay in City Center areas.
   

• The current job market unfortunately is not so welcoming, and hence the opportunities is limited and the competition is high.
• 6 months might not be enough sometimes to look for a job and can take longer.
• The salary should range from 50K-80K depending on the role and company.
• Students do find jobs after graduation but some might have to work longer at student jobs before getting a full-time job.
• I currently do not have any batchmates with full-time jobs.
• The common organisations would be Henkel, Infineon, Audi, and Mercedes.

• I live in an off-campus apartment, which I found from the most famous and common place to look for housing options in Germany, which is Wg-Gesucht.
• My monthly rent is around 450, which is on the higher side considering Aachen.
• One can find much cheaper accommodation in Aachen; however, finding accommodation in Aachen isn't straightforward.
• It's a really difficult process to find a good place to live in Aachen; as it is a student city, there's a constant demand for apartments.
• I personally luckily did not face a lot of challenges in finding an accommodation and would just recommend starting looking early on and looking for new ads daily.
• Since the university is spread across the entire city and is not at just one location, if you're at a fair distance from the centre, you're good to go.
• And there is no such thing as "a place where Indian students stay.".

• I am not sure about this as I have also just started the course. 
• More than 50% of the students secure employment within 6 months of completing the course on average. The average salary range for students is my course goes from around 55,000 to 65,000 euros per annum which is pre taxes.
• Students do find these jobs by themselves from networking and branching to online websites and LinkedIn. Most of them do all the work themselves as they get the flexibility to find their job role, pay range and working location.
• I have a few friends who have had their share of interviews for placements. The interviews sometimes last for hours, I know a person who is placed as an embedded engineer and in electronics department at DB.

• I have an off campus accommodation which I found it through online website which is the usual practice in Germany.
• The monthly rent for my current accommodation is 450 euros which include the rent, electricity, heating cost and the cost of Wifi.
• Finding an accommodation is really tough and the main challenge is to find the one that fits your budget and needs, you also need to get it verified and ensure it is not an internet scam. Advice for future students is to start finding accommodation 3-4 months early and you might have to pay extra rent for an extra month and do that as it will be worth it. 
• My accommodation is 20-25 mins away from the university but the busses run at the interval of 10-12 minutes so it is not an issue.

• Around 60% of the students are employed with full time jobs after 6 months of graduation.
• Average salary range - 60000 EUR
• Students usually extend their internships or work students into full time job offers. Otherwise they network during the career fairs organized by the university and secure jobs. One can also always apply on linkedin but it is much more difficult there due to the large number of applicants.
• Major companies - Henkel, Unity Consulting, P&G etc

• I found my accommodation through the online website called wg-gesucht. New ads are posted there everyday but the competition is very high. One needs to sell themselves very well to be considered for the application.
• 420 EUR rent, including wifi, electricity, heating and water charges.
• Finding an accommodation in the area close to the required amenities like bus stop, market etc was a challenge.
• My recommendation would be to start early, at least 3 months before the start of your course and include your hobbies and interests in the initial message.
• My accommodation is currently 10 mins by walk from the campus.
   

Opportunities are scarce if you don't speak German fluently. Currently, they are scarce either way. The European job market is not looking so good at the moment. You are basically on your own after graduation. There are no direct campus placements, but there is a dedicated team at the university who counsels you about job opportunities.

Masters at RWTH was a dream come true for me. More than any technical or educational learning, I gained life lessons. Educationally, the most beneficial part was my master thesis. I enjoyed working hands-on at the laboratories. Germany is a suitable destination for higher studies, if you want value for your money and you don't wish to drown in student debt. Make every day count- you will have to grab opportunities, they will not come to you easily. Be aware of the job market beforehand and seek help when required. Master the german language if you want to settle down after your masters.

Students who have passed out and working at Porsche or Mercedes and they are getting quite a good salary so for a Masters passout student with a good master thesis done in an external company can expect some more around €60-€70,000 a year as your starting salary.

It still gives me goosebumps to even think that I am studying in Germany in the most prestigious universities in the world. So my experience here after coming in Germany at a RWTH was quite thrilling and I was really really intrigued and baffled by the whole educational system that is prevailing in RWTH Aachen here in Germany so I am really proud to be a part of it.

There are opportunities related to job and research after my program but it is up to an individual to understand which topic helps them to pursue their career they wanted.

It was a beautiful experience and steep learning curve. It helped me a lot have a lateral thinking in Data related tasks. I can help any person or company to get insights about data and suggest them easiest way to visualize the data.

There is no placement concept here. A student will have to reach out to apply for job and research. However, there are company-student bonding events that occur around twice a year where companies erect stalls and students can go and enquire (Check out bonding-studenteninitiative e.V.)

My overall experience at RWTH Aachen has been nothing short of exceptional!! The research opportunities, amazing faculty, and a diverse international community enriched my academic journey. No to mention the support from the student bodies during the difficult times, especially the pandemic. In a nutshell, my time there has been transformative, and I am grateful for the invaluable experiences and friendships I've gained.
