Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery or BUMS is a full-time graduate course focusing on various types of Unani treatments. BUMS is a 4.5-year bachelor's program followed by a 1-year internship, the program includes different types of exercises, surgery, diuresis, cupping, therapies, diaphoresis, Turkish bath, etc.
Candidates who wish to pursue BUMS Course are eligible after completing their 10+2 exams from a recognized board having Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as their major subjects with at least 50% marks. Also for some top colleges admission is granted based on the scores of BUMS entrance exams such as NEET, registration of which have started on February 09, 2024. BUMS: Admission Process
Admission to BUMS course is done through national or state level medical entrance tests such as NEET, Combined Pre- Ayush Test (CPAT), CPMEE, KEAM, etc. Some medical colleges also conduct their own entrance exam to test the knowledge of candidates. The steps for entrance-based admission are as follows:
- Online Registration: Students will be provided with a login Id when they complete their registration online. Students will need an email id, mobile number and password for online registration.
- Uploading of documents: The students will have to upload the required documents like photograph, signature, id proof, mark sheet, etc
- Application Fee: Once the documents have been uploaded the student has to complete the payment which can be done via Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
- Download Application Form: The application form should be downloaded for future needs.
- Admit Card: Students will receive the admit card on a designated date before the exam.
- Entrance Examination: Students must wait for the exam dates to be released and sit for the exam with the objective of clearing it. The admission will depend on the marks scored in the Entrance Exam.
- Result Declaration: The students will get to know their marks online when the results will be declared.

BUMS: Syllabus
BUMS course consists of 4 and half years, followed by 1 year of compulsory internship training. Examinations for this program are held annually. There are no online or distance learning programs for this course.
