The course curriculum was tough but very important. It was a three years course. The whole curriculum was covered with environmental physiology, autonomic physiology and pulmonary physiology. The curriculum includes lot of research, practicals,thesis work, seminars etc.
It was a post graduate agricultural course. The curriculum includes the study of various soil and plant sciences to soil management and crop production. Field work, theory, practical, assignment, assessment are part of the curriculum. The Institute conducts unit test, class test on regular basis. The curriculum was very good and interesting.
MSc in genetics and plant breeding is a program provided by this institution which includes lots of research and practical work. The labs are well equipped. The days are very tiring and also hectic. Exams are also tiring.
MSc genetics and plant breeding is a 6 months post graduate diploma program. The course is made in such a way that it gives a good boost to your careers. The labs are comfortable. The days are filled with lots of learnings and exams are also hectic.
The syllabus for my master's program is high-level. The course requires a lot of research and just the prescribed books wouldn't suffice to get ahead. The coursework is hectic and exams are hard. But with hard work, it can be managed.
Our course curriculum is advanced and updated. It has a lot of room for research and does not only focus on the theory part but gives equal weightage to the practical aspect of the course. It can get hectic like every other master's program. Exams are conducted every year.
This course is for two years and teaches about the fundamentals of genetics, Darwin""s theory of evolution with a blend of genetics, plant breeding and the process involved in it. The exam is for 120 marks and basically involves the knowledge of BSC program.
My focus is on host plant resistance against pests for different hybrid varieties of rice, and the PhD program is not restrictive at all. There are just a few seminars to attend and field visits as part of the program.
The course curriculum is not rigid, and there is a focus on attending seminars, workshops and making regular field visits. Apart from that I review articles and books, and write research articles for journals.
The duration of the course is 2 years which is divided into four separate semester, each semester has a number of core and allied subject which revolves around many aspects of agriculture. At the end of each semester there will be a theoretical exam and through out the semester there will be some unit tests and assignments. Students are given projects and seminars to hone their skills and inculcate confidence in them. The course is a perfect blend of theory and practical aspects of agriculture, in which students experience the subject.
