The admission process is carried out to all UG and PG courses through the centralized Delhi University Common Seat Allocation System (DU CSAS). The college accepts CUET scores as the basis of admission to both UG and PG levels, which is administered by NTA. SGGSCC offers UG courses in Arts, Science, Commerce & Management Streams. UG curriculums are provided in various specializations. The duration of the undergraduate courses is 3 years at the college. Step 1: Register for the Entrance Examination

Sri Guru Gobind Singh College admissions to the UG & PG courses are based on scores obtained in the entrance examination. To apply for admission, candidates must register for the following entrance examinations:

  • Candidates applying for CUET must select Delhi University while filling out the application form. Additionally, they must choose subjects for which they have appeared or qualified in the last qualifying exam.

To successfully submit the CUET application, candidates require various documents such as -

  • A scanned copy of the recent passport-sized photograph
  • Scanned copy of your signature (black ink)
  • Photo ID proof issued by the government (Aadhar card, PAN card, Voter ID, Passport, etc.)
  • Marksheets of all qualifying exams
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Banking details for application fee payment

Step 2: Appear for the Entrance Exam

Candidates who fill out the application form must appear for the entrance examination as per the schedule. The timeline of when entrance exams are usually conducted in a year is given below:

Step 3: Registration on DU CSAS Portal and Filling of Courses and College Preferences

Candidates who qualify in the entrance examination must register on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Portal of Delhi University for the SGGSCC seat allotment. Once registration is done, candidates will be asked to fill in their college and course preferences. Registration portals for admission to various courses along with the registration fee of Delhi University are as follows:

  • Candidates who want to apply for the Sports Supernumerary or ECA quota must pay an additional application fee of INR 100.

There are various documents that the candidates should submit during the DU CSAS registration process such as -

  • Photo (jpeg/jpg format)
  • Scanned Signature (jpeg/jpg format)
  • Marksheet of all qualifying exams
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • Affidavit for Single Girl Child (if applicable)
  • Certificate from Orphanage/ Death Certificate of parents (if applicable)
  • Kashmiri Migrant (if applicable)
  • PwBD/CW Category (if applicable)
  • Ward Quota (if applicable)
  • A total of 5 certificates from the past 3 years, if applying through ECA category
  • A total of 3 certificates from the past 3 years, if applying through the Sports Supernumerary category

Step 4: Seat Allocation

The seat allocation for all courses will be done in multiple rounds. Delhi University is going to release the merit lists in two categories: Common Merit List and Category 2 Merit List (for PG courses only). The Common Merit List (CML) is open to all candidates. However, for the Category 2 Merit List (C2ML), only students who have graduated from Delhi University will be considered for admission to PG programs. The Highest Possible Preference will be provisionally allocated to a candidate who meets the Sri Guru Gobind Singh College admission criteria such as:

  • Combination of selected college and course
  • Rank secured in the entrance exam
  • Availability of seats
  • Category of candidates

Step 5: Blocking of Seats and Final Admission

Upon declaration of merit list, candidates can check the list by logging in to their CSAS dashboard for acceptance of the allocated seat, if offered. Once a seat has been allocated to Sri Guru Gobind Singh College in a particular round, the candidate must 'Accept' the allocated seat before the last date/time in a given time period. 

  • Once the candidate "Accept" the provisionally allocated seat, the college administration will approve the seat allotment by checking the eligibility and documents uploaded by the candidate. 
  • Upon approval of the seat allotment by the college, candidates will have to pay the Sri Guru Gobind Singh College admission fee to confirm their seat.

Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce Reservation Criteria 2024

Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce is a Sikh Minority institution, so 50% of the total seats are reserved for Sikh candidates. These candidates must produce the Sikh Minority certificate issued by the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee, Shri Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib. The remaining 50% seats are treated as unreserved by the college. Additionally, Delhi University gives a reservation of 1 seat in each course to single girl child students.

Ans. SGGSCC is the second best Commerce college of Delhi University. Apart from an excellent teaching team, the college also has good infrastructure, financial services, placement drives to offer for the students.

Ques. How to get admission to Sri Guru Gobind Singh College?

Ans. To get admission to the UG and PG courses at SGGSCC, interested candidates must have to appear in the CUET exam and qualify. After that, they have to register for the DU CSAS process to take part in the seat allotment process of the university and fill in their college and course preferences. After getting allotted a seat at the SGGSCC, candidates must complete the admission process.

Ques. Is there any offline application process at SGGSCC?

Ans. SGGSCC lies under the aegis of Delhi University. The application process for all the colleges and courses at Delhi University is online i.e. through Delhi University Common Seat Allotment System (DU CSAS).

Ques. Does SGGSCC accepts any other entrance exam apart from CUET?

Ans. No. The admission to both UG and PG courses is carried out based on the candidate’s performance in CUET. The college accepts no other entrance exam for admission to these courses.

Ques. What certificate is required from Sikh Minority students for admission to SGGSCC under the Minority category?

Ans. The students need to have a Sikh Minority Certificate to get admission to SGGSCC, issued by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee for that particular year. DSGMC will set up a special cell for the issuance of this certificate. Students have to be physically present along with parents to secure such a certificate from DSGMC.

Ques. How can a student with disabilities (PwD) access and fill out the online application form for SGGSCC?

Ans. The PwD applicants may fill out the online application form for SGGSCC. Visually impaired applicants may use screen reading software such as JAWS or NVDA to fill the application form. Those unable to use computers may take human assistance. Two centres are allotted by the University for assisting PwD candidates.

Ques. Will the applicants be granted admission on a “first-come, first serve” policy after declaration of cut-offs at SGGSCC?

Ans. Admissions at SGGSCC is not based on first come first serve policy. Instead, the applicant who has filled the online registration form and satisfies the criteria and cut-off for a particular course in a particular college will be considered for admission as per the schedule of admission specified.

Ques. After taking admission in a particular subject, it be changed during the course of study or after completing the 1st year in SGGSCC?

Ans. Once a student is enrolled for a particular subject in SGGSCC, the subject can be changed only before the last date of admission provided for that course in the online registration form. If the student becomes eligible, he/she has to cancel the admission in the current course and seek fresh admission in the desired course. Students cannot change the subject during the course of study or after completing the first year.

Ans. No, there is a centralized application process for colleges functioning under DU for admissions. Applications can be submitted via Delhi University (DU CSAS) admission portal and choose SGGSCC & available courses can be chosen during the preference filling round.

You can apply for BBE, if you had mathematics in Class 12th. In CUET, mathematics, English and general test score are counted for enrollment in this course. SGGSCC is one of the best colleges for pursuing BBE, so you have to get a decent rank to get in, if you are a general student. However, 50 percent seats are reserved for Sikh students.

Admission:

The application process is simple. There is a test called cuet(common University entrance test). We have to fill our subjects first and according to it we have exams in different centre the preference of centre is there when you fill the CUET application. According to our subject the courses are shown and you also have to select the difference Universities you want to study. The cut off for CUET previous year is around 760+ if you want to study in best colleges or universities other wise passing marks is 480+ out of 800. And you also have the reservation benefits in it like sc/st/obc and also many types of quota also like cw,minority,etc. The application process is online.

Admission process was completely online on the du website the cut off goes around 96-98 and there is reservation for sikh minority students they get lower cut off by around 5%. The process was very smooth faculty is nice and one of the best colleges for commerce there are many companies in the placement drive and internship drive.
