Model College was established in the year 1989. The college is affiliated with the University of Mumbai in 2003, Mumbai. The college offers education in under-graduation courses in B.Com. and B.Sc. and post-graduation in M.Sc. and M.Com. It has been providing not only traditional grant-in-aid courses in Commerce but also self financing, job oriented courses in Commerce stream like BMS, B.Com Accounting and Finance, B.Com Banking and Insurance and B.Com Financial Markets.
Apart from these, there are other professional courses being offered like B.Sc Information Technology, BSc Computer Science, Bachelor in Mass Media and Science at junior college level to cater to the demands of the industry. Model College Admission
Selection criteria:
For UG , Selection will be based on merit in the qualifying exam followed by the counselling. For PG , Selection depends upon merit score in the qualifying exam
- B.Sc. Admissions - If any candidate seeks to take admission in B.Sc Computer science, then the candidate needs to 10+2 cleared with 35% of marks, and Candidates with diploma in Engineering or computer science are eligible to apply for the first year B.Sc. program. On the other hand, if the candidates want to take admission in B.Sc.(IT) then the Candidate needs to be pass in the higher secondary examination in the science stream with at least 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST) in aggregate. A further selection is done based on merit.
- B.Com Admissions - The eligibility criteria are Pass in 10+2 with at least 45% marks (40% marks by SC/ST candidates). The selection is done based on merit followed by counselling.
- BMS Admissions - The basic eligibility criteria are to qualify for the HSC exam. After that selection is done based on merit.
- M.Sc. Admissions - The candidates who are passed in B.Sc. with at least 45% marks from a recognized university. Selection will be based on merit in the qualifying examination.
- M.Com Admissions - The candidates who are passed in B.Com.or BMS from a recognized university are eligible to take admissions in M.Com. Selection will be based on merit in the qualifying examination.
How to Apply?
The admission process is common for every course. For applying for any course, students have to visit the college campus. Then they need to collect the form and then start filling that. Follow these steps:-

NSS:-Model college, Thane provides NSS facilities to students to grow and develop personally. The college has two units of 100 students each.
Anti-ragging:- The college has an anti-ragging squad which prevents to accomplish of ragging regarding tasks. This is for the security of the new students.

College hires only post-graduate and Ph.D. teachers to teach respective subjects of different courses. Teachers share their experiences related to the topic for a better understanding of students. Practical activities are scheduled regularly along with theoretical knowledge. There are 3 teachers for each subject. All teachers have the qualifications more than post-graduation. Among them, one is head of the department and two others are the contractual lecturer. All the responsibility of the department is on the HOD.

- There are almost 100 to 150 students in each division, and we have 4 divisions for each course, so our student ratio is good.
- There are many companies that offer internships for students, such as Tata, Amazon, TCS, Infosys, and many more.
Dislikes
- Companies like Godrej offer a stipend of Rs. 5000. The auditing project clarifies the task, but the stipend is very low compared to other companies. However, students do the job for the experience, and the money doesnt matter when it comes to gaining experience.
- In self-financed courses like banking, insurance, and accounts and finance, placements are provided.

There are offline and online both methods to get admission. Forms are available on the website of the college for online admission and for offline admission forms are available in the college office. Exams were conducted over a gap of 3 months.

- The way of teaching. College is like good not that bad instead of fests.
- Special days like saree, western etc. are also okayish. Canteen foods are tasty and their service is pretty good. Rates are reasonable so i like it.

- Campus is bit small. Canteen size is too small and sitting area is also okay.

I taken admission through management. Cut off starts from 75-80% . They sit in campus and provide admission forms so it is easy to get it. Fees counter is also ground floor. U can check dates in their website. They provide dates and procedures in websites. Timings are okay. Dont have any issues about procedures. Their system is good.

- Sometimes fights in the campuss happend because of unidentified and oustide people.

The eligibility of course is 12th pass in any stream. The application form is in college website and in the college office. The cut off is about more than 60 percentage. As I said admission process is so unorganized. This improvement is really needed.

I was a student at model college since junior college the college was so great that it made me stay for 3 more years, the excellent staff, the campus life the events and everything they do was with excellency & enthusiasm. Every staff in the college whether teachers or cleaning facility they were so nice to us it feels like we are home, the classmates we met in the classroom we seated we never felt uncomfortable and thought that something was missing best college ever in Thane to be a student of its proud to be a student at model college these many years

Student cut-off is 56% more than that student getting admission and all details have been written on the notice board regarding the admission process. Reserved students are easily getting admission to in-house Cotta. that need to be changed because all students should be treated equally.

1st I fill the university form that is compulsory for all those who want to graduate from the model college and cut off 80. I got admission to 1st list only and the form fee was 200 rupees and the after list I paid 1st instalment of 10000.

Model College, Dombivili BMS fee structure is not available in online mode. You need to visit the college for collecting fee details.
Model College Dombivili has not released the fee structure of M.Com. for 2022-23. The college is expected to announce the fee structure soon on its official website.
