MBBS is a professional course so anything that is taught is directed towards patient care. With a recent change in curriculum there is a more rigorous integration of wards and academics which should result in better learning There are 4 professional exams in 4 years conducted by the University with intervening semesters conducted by the college. The exams have become more clinically oriented yielding better competence in students

Well we all know MBBS is a very vast course but it's really interesting once you get hold of the subjects. The things we learn in the MBBS forms the base for future physicians. This course is noble as well as rewarding if you are patient enough. After MBBS one can pursue PG in any branch for their choice(clinical/para clinical/non clinical) or choose to work at PHCs/pvt set ups or even open their own clinics. In our college 3 semester exams takes place followed by a professional (University exam). The papers in the semesters are of good standard and one has to study hard to pass them. Doing pyqs is helpful in this regard

The courses from this college is mainly self prepared. There is not a lot of spoon feeding in this college which is good because it gives a lot of opportunities for trial and error to improve ourselves
MBBS course is of 5.5 years duration with 4.5 years of academics and 1 year of internship. The professors are well qualified, experienced, dedicated, and helpful. They give their best to make us good doctors. Currently, from the 2019 batch, we have the CBME curriculum from NMC guidelines to make competent doctors for the coming future. The exams are conducted timely, and the pass percentage is 70-80%, which is pretty good. A lot of clinical exposure is required to understand the different aspects of medicine. Esic medical college Kolkata has a highly equipped hospital that provides an excellent learning experience for all the medical students studying there. Exams occur regularly with internal assessment and professional exams by University.
The teachers are good and take great interest in teaching the students. The research scope is less. Frequent exams and semesters were conducted in the college much more in comparison to other state medical colleges.
Fees is high as compared to all other government College in West Bengal. We have fees of 1lacs per year. Scholarship are available for students. Intetns are given good amount of stipend.
