Securing a job is further difficult; full-time is almost very difficult. It is rare to find a job within the first 6 months of graduating. The average salary range is 50-90k. Students find jobs by networking, with the highest salary of 150k and the lowest at 40k
I chose this university mostly because of the location. I chose this program because of my interest in psychology and media. My university is the 10th best in the world for my chosen field of study. I also chose it because of the great extra curricular opportunities.
I chose this university because of a number of reasons. First of all, it's one of the top five universities in Canada every year. I also got to know that it is good for studying psychology in which I always wanted to major in. Lastly, Canada has a lot of Indian students. Henceforth, knowing that I won't have a lot of adjustment problems in UBC was a plus.
Vancouver has one of the highest immigrant populations in the world so I felt comfortable knowing I'd be in a very diverse environment. There's a lot of violence and racism in many US colleges and even big colleges in Canada and UBC seemed quite committed to anti-racism and diversity. UBC also has the highest ranked psychology department in Canada. I always wanted to get into research so this was a big factor in my decision. Vancouver also has the best weather in Canada as it doesn't get very cold in the winter. It has a beautiful natural environment with beaches and mountains, and I was excited to live in a city surrounded by nature.
I knew UBC from my parent's friend. They said UBC is one of the top universities in Canada with a beautiful campus. That was the original motivation for me to apply to this university. Besides, this university was the best university that I can apply to according to my grades.
I was always keen on pursuing my bachelor's degree from UBC as their program is exactly what I was looking for.
I had visited the campus before and thought it was beautiful, My brother went there 2 years before I did and therefore I was able to see and hear about the programs that they offered. I also wanted to do my undergrad on a big university campus as I come from a small island and wanted something different.
I wanted to study on the west coast of Canada because of the weather, so I focused on the University of British Columbia from the start. I love that campus is so close to Vancouver. Every city doesn't have the transit system set up with students in mind but in Vancouver, UBC is the starting point for a lot of bus lines, making it super easy to get around the city. UBC Psychology is also one of the best faculties in Canada and ranked in the top 15 worldwide, which definitely helped while making my decision.
