I chose this university because of its faculties and reputation all over the globe. It's one of the high-ranking universities with great placement opportunities and many big companies like google, amazon, Microsoft, SAP visit the campus. Research opportunities and culture are great. The university also provides co-op opportunities after completing one year of the degree program which helps gain experience even while studying.
Course Curriculum :
Course curriculum lets students explore many different fields of computer science. One can major in software development, machine learning, cybersecurity, and even artificial intelligence. Research culture is the main reason why students at UBC excel. They can choose the topic of research and the research paper is published by the university and it helps a lot of students get placed after completing their degrees. Practical exposure is provided through specialization projects for each course.
Exams :
IELTS score along with CV needed to be submitted. The CV mentioned all the extracurricular activities done in school and also volunteer programs attended and the certifications and any experience already related to the field you're applying for. Other than that, medical certificates and board mark sheets of 10th and 12th were submitted.
Placement :
Microsoft, IBM, Google, Amazon, SAP are a few of the companies that visit the campus for placements. Almost 90% of the students from my program gets placed and the placement department makes sure that all the students get equal opportunities and even prepares the student to crack interview rounds and help them throughout the process. Alumni referrals also help a lot for the placement of current students.
Events :
Cultural meets and clubs are a daily part of UBC's activities. Social events related to almost every culture happen on the campus. Sports events like basketball, baseball are the primary resource of entertainment. Good studious environment, libraries, gym, playing area, cafeteria, everything has an awesome look and feel.

Faculty :
The student to faculty ratio is 18:1 which allows faculties to make sure that every student in the class is understanding the topic and grasping the concepts with ease. Faculty and teaching assistants are easily approachable. For better problem solving, lab courses have additional lab assistants to help with the problems. The professors hold Ph.D. degrees and are well versed in their subjects.
Hostel :
No, I don't live on-campus. I live in a shared apartment in Vancouver paying $1000 per month for utilities like furniture, water supply, electricity, parking lot. But I have heard that the on-campus housing arrangement is good as well but it is a bit expensive as compared to living off-campus.
