I was already working in Talent Acquisition but didn't have an HR degree. I applied to Sheridan due to various factors. I was guided by a friend. Sheridan is close to all Indian amenities & public transportation is fast in the area. After all the experience I will highly recommend trying first University instead of college. Toronto, waterloo, Calgary, Lethbridge or other universities instead of college as a first choice. Choose your course wisely as per 2024 Canada's in-demand skills are Data Analyst/ Nursing/Tool & Die Maker, Power Engineering/ Electric Technician /Engineering, CNC Machinist, Plumbing, and Mechanical Grinder. These are the best courses In demand PR Pathway programs with less competition. 2 years of power Engineering course can land you a 40 -50$ Job at least. The market for IT was good post-COVID-19 but shrank a lot & the trend continues. If you have experience as a net Developer/Data Analyst/Infrastructure support you will still get a chance in the labour market.
Course Curriculum :
HR course was updated in the Sheridan College. It includes the Laws/Public Health Safety, Rights of the individual which is very important to understand if you really want to have field exposure in Canada.
Exams :
- Required at least 6.5 in IELTS for the program not less than 6 in any module. My Score was 7 overall. - Grade 10: 78%; Grade 12: 67% (Non-Medical) B.Tech Mechanical (PTU): 68% ; HR ( Sheridan College, Canada: 3.2 GPA - Requirements: Yes, SOP is very much required when applying to any universities/colleges abroad. An individual has to explain why he chose the program & how it will benefit his/her individual growth.
Placement :
I graduated in 2020 during COVID no placements were there & in the current scenario market is not in good shape & it will remain throughout 2024-2025 in North America.
Fees :
$9000 for 1 semester $8800 each in 2nd 3rd & 4th semester The semester was usually 4 months instead of 6 months.
Faculty :
Sheridan has experienced well-versed faculty. They were available all the time but one needs to book a prior appointment to meet. In colleges or Universities, all have Student mentors to guide you in case any individual needs help or facing some issues.
Campus Life :
Wifi/ Club for party/ Gym/Sports activities everything is available in Sheridan but as an international student you need to calculate all the things before enrolling to extra activities.
Hostel :
I was living with friends from 2018 to 2020 I paid 400$/month for a shared room with a friend but rents have exploded after If looking for a single room it will cost around 700$ outside Toronto and at least 1000 to 1100$ within Toronto.
