What Students Say
Likes
- Great Infrastructure and Amazing Faculty who helped me and my colleagues get good scores in our academics. Would really recommend this college if a person is a foreign immigrant student.
Dislikes
- I would not say I would dislike the academics but I truly believe there are many room for improvements such as more campus placements.
- But the one thing I dislike is the number of Indian immigrant students intake compared to foreign students. If the college puts a cap on the number of students per course per intake that would benefit all.
Required Exams for Admission
I chose this college because of multiple factors. Number 1 factor is the location. Since I came in 2012 which was post covid accommodation , grocery everything was high. London Ontario being a city albeit a small one was affordable and was a great place to live in which is why I chose this college. Also the college had a great reputation as it is the only college other than western university in London. The overall experience, academics and extracurricular was good. I would suggest, like I mentioned before, to reduce the cap on Indian immigrant students, especially Punjabis as they only form a community amongst themselves and don't really mingle with students from other cultures, which really affects the academics when group projects are assigned.
Course Curriculum
My course was up to date and was relevant to the program however most parts were specifically for the city and not country or province wide. Most of my topics were related to the city of London.
Faculty
The faculty members have great experience and each person has another job such as owner or manager of another company, so they have hands-on experience with real life scenarios. Everyone that I interacted with was very approachable. Especially Ms. Lotfieh (apologies if I got the name wrong) from Fanshawe who was also my academic program coordinator.
Campus Life
Everything was good, great infrastructure, excellent canteen and library.
Placement
I cannot put an exact number to it, but if you ask me on a scale of 1 to 10 i would say 5 since in Canada it is not a college or university thing for a student to get placement it solely depends on the individual. Hard work pays off.
Accommodation
There are no hostels provided by the college, none that I know of, however compared to other cities, London Ontario accommodation was affordable and easy to get a part time job which is a vital role in a foreign student's life.
Exams
- I had a IELTS overall 7.5 score but the college requirement is min 6.5 overall with individual band no less than 6. - I have a bachelors in civil engineering from Anna university and I secured CGPA 7. - In 10th grade my overall was 451 out of 500 and in 12th grade my overall was 989 out of 1200. - Requirements: Yes I did submit an SOP with my CV as I had a working experience, however Canada does not need a LOR not sure about the current situation but when I did the process in 2020 it was not required. - Interview Round: I did not have any rounds of interview but I think such an idea should become mandatory and should be practiced in future.
Fees
Tuition fee: Canadian dollars $16k
Scholarship
I did not receive any scholarship as my undergrad GPA was only average.
