This course will extend your prior knowledge and experience of computing, and prepare you for research, teaching and further graduate studies. 

In addition to learning about the fundamentals of computer architecture and organising, storing and retrieving data, you will learn how to identify software security problems in specialised client systems and to design countermeasures based on client requirements and priorities. 

You will develop expertise in formal languages, the mathematical foundation of computability, and formal logic of systemic complexity. This may enhance your career prospects in a range of industry sectors, business and management. 

The Master of Computer Science will provide you with the skills and ability to solve complex real world problems by integrating computer science methods with effective management strategies, and by developing and deploying computer applications. The Master of Computer Science provides education in both the theoretical paradigms and practical skills required to design and implement computer-based systems. It enable computing graduates to extend their skills in a number of areas and prepares students for either higher degree study or advanced employment in the Australian and international information technology industry and public service sectors.

• Applicants must normally hold a degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution in computer science, information technology, ICT-based engineering or a closely related discipline; or the Graduate Diploma in Computer Science.
