- The M.S. degree program provides a foundation in economic theory, quantitative analysis, and knowledge in a particular area of agricultural and resource economics. For some students, the M.S. is their final degree; other students choose to continue on for a Ph.D. degree.
- A Masters Degree is earned through one of three options: Plan A (Thesis), or Plan B (Major Paper or Coursework), or, under certain conditions, as a component of a Ph.D. degree program.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must hold a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent from a regionally accredited college or university.
- A cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 for the entire undergraduate career.
- If a student's degree is a 3-year bachelor’s degree from India, Canada, Australia, Sri Lanka, or certain other countries, the University of Connecticut will not consider the degree to be equivalent to a 4 year US bachelor’s degree.
Indian Eligibility:
- Students are required to submit a 4-year undergraduate degree with 70% or above from the recognized university or college.
- If a student's degree is a 3-year bachelor’s degree, the University of Connecticut will not consider the degree to be equivalent to a 4 year US bachelor’s degree.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
