Bachelor of Science [B.S] (Construction Engineering)
Field of Study:
$31,104 /Yr
This program will prepare individuals to apply scientific, mathematical, engineering, and management principles to the planning, design, and building of commercial and residential facilities and structures. It will include instruction in civil engineering fundamentals such as structure principles, site analysis, foundations, computer-assisted design, evaluation and testing, and materials combined with hands-on learning in architecture and construction courses related to contracting, project management, graphic communications, and applicable laws and regulations.
The rapidly growing economy requires construction of infrastructure projects that holistically combine functionality, safety, and cost-effectiveness resulting in the development of sustainable communities. Construction engineers and managers will be needed as overall construction activity increases over the coming decade.??According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for construction managers is projected to grow 16% between 2012-2022, faster than the average for all occupations. This increased demand will challenge construction managers to imagine new ways to support the needs of business, industry, public agencies, and nations.
