Placement:

After finishing our program, many students get good jobs in nearby textile companies, especially in North Carolina. They usually find jobs before they finish their studies, earning around $80,000 to $100,000 per year. This shows our program is great for finding work and pays well too.

The median reprted salary for my major(computer science ) with students graduating from this university is about $85000/year. The placement process is that people reach out to various employers through various platforms. We have annual job fairs in the usu ballroom where companies like toyota, yamaha, boeing,Southern California edison review students’ resume and connect with them for intetnships and full time jobs.

  • things which almost every university has in common, few professors which somewhat lack in their skills, though having good in-depth knowledge in their respective fields. Students might complain about the heavy coursework the CE department has to offer, but it's all needed.

Placement:

For now , its recession, can not have a broad spectrum on this topic, every company is on thee verge of hiring freeze. though some far away field companies are still in good shape of hiring.

Internship:

I worked in Analog Rails for 3 months, in terms of internship. i got paid for minimum around some $20-25 per hour, since i somehow found one in this cut throat competition.

  • Dislikes:
  • Since it is not a very well ranked university, the perception in the industry is not great. A lot of companies do hire grads from NCSU but being here won't cause any harm nor will boost your profile a lot. Academically, many professors are on the top of their respective research fields, and contribute very heavily to the research, however, you can find some professors who might not be able to put across their points very effectively in the class, and thus would require extra effort from students.,
  • None of these points though appeared a deal breaker for me. Some majors are quite involving, so you might not get a lot of time to explore activities outside of academics.

Placement:

Within university, there are ample research opportunities for interested students. NCSU also has an e-partner program through which a lot of industry leaders visit the campus regularly. Career fairs see over 300 companies, but the problem is sponsorship. Out of these 300+ companies, around 10% come for CS grad international students. In 2022-2023, market situation is not suitable, so current numbers might not be very helpful. One can check the placements statistics on NCSU website.

Internship:

No, I am more interested in research, so working on research projects on campus only.

Placement:

We have several career fairs around campus and anyone is welcome to go to any of them at any time no matter what your degree program is. They bring out some of the best companies in the state and try to help us out in terms of getting us prepared for these career fairs.

Internship:

The school doesn't necessarily offer internships but they do have a ton of on-campus jobs. There are opportunities from administrative assistant positions to coffee house barista. I haven't personally obtained a job from the school but I have friends who have and they say that most places are flexible in terms of being able to schedule them at times that fit them best.

The resources were technically there, but the staff didn't seem to be receptive to students actual needs and desires in the workplace. It was also more left up to students to over actively seek out the help for placement opportunities than the facilities advertising themselves well.

They offered good programs for almost every type of major and interest. They have pretty expansive study abroad programs that were easy to apply for, as studying abroad was important to me to be able to experience. They also provided me with the most financial aid.

Internship:

Yes, individual research labs on campus provide internships sometimes for students. I was able to get an internship in a plant pathology lab at state for a summer. It was an extremely rewarding experience and I was paid!

Personally, it was because I would only have to pay their in-state tuition. Additionally, they had good science programs in chemistry, biology, and botany. Additionally, it has one of the biggest student population in North Carolina.
