Only two hours away from home, has a good CSD program. I had to pay a little fee to apply here, but it wasn't a lot! I also applied USF and gained admission, but ultimately chose UCF! I am very happy with my decision, especially after being here for a year and a half! The CSD program has welcomed me and I feel confident in my ability to thrive here.

Florida Bright Futures, UCF grant, Think 30 Scholarships helped me in financial part.
Overview:
It wasn't too far from home but far enough and was not nearly expensive as a private school. The application fee was not bad and it was my top choice school so I was committed to getting in. I applied to five colleges and got into four. I was a straight-A student in high school but my SAT score was 1160.
Scholarship:
I have used loans and it was not great. They offered me a subsidized loan but then changed the amount and did not tell me. So I last minute has to except a subsidized loan and still have to pay it off.
Overview:
I completed a bachelor's degree(mathematics Hons) with a 3.93/4 GPA from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2015. After that, I wanted to get into higher studies because I wanted to secure an academic position in a university. I applied to a few other USA universities including (UCF) and got the admission, tuition scholarship and teaching assistant position from almost all of them. I have heard about those universities through some senior Sri Lankan students who were studying there. The first reason to choose UCF is that I love hot weather and hate snow, so Florida is my best choice. Then as an institution, UCF is the largest University in the USA with great facilities for international students. Communication is really efficient. As an international student, I had to send many emails back and forth and got replies very fast. Since I got quick replies it was easy to deal with the visa process in advance. Also compared to other USA institutions application fee is cheaper.
Scholarship:
Yes, I've got tuition scholarship+health insurance and the teaching assistantship. We have to submit a separate form for both scholarship and teaching assistantship with university application. Selecting process is highly competitive and it's based on our Bachelor's results and GRE, TOEFL results. Also, we have to submit a statement of purpose as well.
Overview:
I chose the University of Central Florida mostly out of convenience. The school has a direct connect program that made it easy to transfer my Valencia credits to the state school. I also live in the area.
