- It is a public university. They have diverse international students from all over the world.,
- Facilities provided to international students, which make it easy for ongoing processes and finding new things across the campus.,
- Faculties here are very helpful and they try to not give much stress to the academic curriculum.
- Dislikes:
- Location- Kent is a small town which limits the job search within the city as compared to major cities like California, and Seattle.,
- Weather- Kent is located in the north side of Ohio which experiences long winters, and as an Indian, I don't like it much.,
- Parking Issues- Many students complain about the parking space as it is limited, most of the students park their vehicles near the stadium and then come by bus.
Placement:
Most Indian students in the USA prefer working part-time in roles that offer flexibility and align with their schedules. Common part-time jobs include: 1. On-Campus Positions: These include roles in the library, campus bookstore, dining services, or administrative offices. On-campus jobs are often preferred because they are more accommodating to students’ schedules and are sometimes easier to obtain. 2. Retail and Food Service: Jobs in stores, cafes, and restaurants are popular due to their flexibility in hours. 3. Tutoring or Teaching Assistant Positions: Many students seek jobs related to their field of study, such as tutoring peers or working as a teaching assistant. 4. Internships: Some students opt for internships related to their field, which can sometimes be paid part-time positions. Indians prefer working part-time in following fields: 1.On-Campus Jobs: These are the most common due to the ease of availability and the fact that they don't usually require special work permits. Examples include Library assistants Teaching assistants (TAs) or research assistants (RAs) Lab assistants Administrative roles in university offices Cafeteria or dining services 2. Off-Campus Jobs (for students with appropriate work authorization, like CPT or OPT): Retail jobs (stores, supermarkets) Food services (cafes, restaurants) Tutoring jobs (for school children or other students) I just joined this program so can't tell you about the employment for 6 months. The salary range for graduates from an engineering program can vary based on factors such as location, industry, and specific engineering discipline. On average, in the USA, recent engineering graduates can expect to earn between $60,000 and $85,000 per year. Internships are a common route to full-time employment. Many students convert their internships into job offers, as companies often prefer to hire individuals who have already demonstrated their skills and fit within the company.
I applied in multiple colleges before I got into Kent State University: University of Alabama at Birmingham (Admitted) Oregon State University (Rejected) The University of Dayton (Admitted) Kent State University (Admitted) George Mason University (Rejected) San Francisco University (Admitted) Drexel University (Admitted) I applied for 7 universities from which I got selected in 5 universities and got rejected in 2, maybe they don't find me a good fit for their program. I chose this university because of its ranking, it is a public university, was getting the course I wanted, and also it was cheaper compared to my other admits. The most popular intake, offering the widest range of courses and scholarships is the fall intake (August). The process will take nearly a year including the visa process if you want to apply for fall 2025 then you should start by Nov 2024 and should take the exam by Oct or Sep.You should apply for the admission process by early Nov or Dec while preparing for the exam you should ready your documents as well.

- Behavior and cultural acceptance towards college students.,
- Abundance of extracurricular activities such as Zumba, yoga, meditation, football, table tennis, etc,
- Very well behaved and friendly faculties of the college.,
- Well-aligned resources in order to meet international students' demands.
Placement:
Research opportunities after completion of my master's program were good. The faculties within the master's program also help you in getting good placement opportunities.
I chose overall 3 colleges for my study abroad based on my tuition fee structure, course curriculum, and duration of my master's program in the US. I got accepted in all 3 and Kent State University was one among them. I prefer moving to Kent State because of the spring session start of my master's program. I was able to start early so that’s the reason I preferred moving to Kent, Ohio for my master's program.

- Great Campus infrastructure,
- Facilities are well experienced
- Dislikes:
- No Scholarships,
- Not located in any major metropolitan city.
Placement:
Active reading work is done , many professors provide graduate assistantships.
I chose Kent State University because it aligned to my budget , they have very good masters programs , their research work is very good and it is public university with beautiful campus.

- Considering the fee structure, kent is offering masters course at a reasonable fees and i also had friends here.,
- The professor's infrastructure and oportunity to grow and enable yourself in good environemnt. Library was awesome , i felt rarely to come back to home form library. Kent state university exceeded my expectation, it was too good that what i think
- Dislikes:
- Nothing much, it was a small university with limited research help, but still if you want to grow there is a lot of chance here. There is a lot of support from department side and there help you in a friendly manner.
Placement:
Nothing much; in USA the placements are completely dependent on the student. Everyone has to build a profile, build a resume, learn new things, and always have knowledge of the latest technologies.
Internship:
I worked as an intern with a prop-tech company named MRI Software, where I got a pay of 2800$ per month.

- Good University, and most of the visa officers have a good impression on this one.
Placement:
We have to find jobs on our own, and coming to research opportunities, professors are ready to fund but we have to do Phd.
I would not say the best, but this is a reasonable university with good studies, and good faculty.

- The course curriculum and lab work offered as a part of the program I've chosen has been the major reason of my inclination towards this university. It provides numerous opportunities on campus for students to pursue a part time job that really helps in managing their living expenses.,
- The university provides a lot of facilities in terms of transportation, recreation, medical, food, groceries etc at nominal prices. The culture here is extremely diverse and accepting. There are a lot of events held to honor different traditions and beliefs.
- Dislikes:
- This university does not offer scholarships of any kind. This is one thing that I dislike. I personally feel that the effort put by the university to create networking platforms with working professionals is nearly negligible.
Placement:
The placement opportunities are pretty decent . A lot of events and job fairs are held to help in networking.
My overall experience at Kent state university has been a very pleasant one. My stay in Kent has nurtured me into an independent individual. My spectrum of imagination and application has been broadened because of the knowledge I gained at KSU.
Placement:
It's not that great. I've seen classmates struggle to get internships and after college jobs which makes nervous when I look for my job when I graduate.
Internship:
We are required to have one but they don't provide one. There is an on-campus design agency but it doesn't always count as internship credit.
The fashion program is the third in the country behind New York and Los Angeles and they gave me scholarships and have a really good program. I also like it because it is no too far away from my home town, but far enough that it gives me the college experience.
Placement:
I think the placement and job opportunities are good. Both my parents went to Kent and got places in great schools to student teach. They also got jobs very fast and pain-free. I am excited to be at this point in school.
Internship:
It does! I am in the education program so I will be student teaching and not doing an internship. But I know that the advisors help a lot trying to find opportunities such as an internship. They are very helpful.
The relative location to my home town was close but yet far enough that it gave the experience of being away at school during the duration of my college experience. I offered the program I wanted and was affordable.
