The admission decision to those who applied as first-year undergraduate students is generally released on the university’s Application Portal on March 31. The admission decision for transfer applicants is issued by April 30. The majority of programs have varying decision dates. The common deadline for graduate application decisions is April 15.

University of California Irvine University Admission: Selection Criteria

A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for admission to most graduate-level programs. However, prospective applicants are advised to have a GPA of 3.5 or better to meet the competitive edge. To be eligible for admission to undergraduate courses, a minimum GPA of 3.4 is required from international applicants. However, the recently admitted first-year students have recorded a weighted GPA of 4.22, which makes it even more difficult to qualify for admission.

Apart from academic scores, admission-seeking students are also advised to have a strong profile that must include well-written SOP or essays, professional or academic letters of recommendation, resumes and additional documents specific to the course.
