University of Maryland Language Programs

Ranked 20 by the QS global ranking the University of Maryland College Park, the School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (SLLC) is the primary academic unit devoted to instruction and research in the world's languages, literature, cinema, and cultures. The School is a transdisciplinary teaching and research unit.

Uni’s students, faculty, and staff investigate and engage with the linguistic, cultural, cinematic, and literary worlds of speakers. The SLLC offers education abroad programs in many countries, both short and long-term.  These consists of the Departments of Arabic, East Asian Languages and Cultures, French and Italian, German Studies, Persian, Russian, and Spanish and Portuguese, as well as the Cinema and Media Studies and Second Language Acquisition programs.
