  • The Master's of Arts in Counseling has three concentrations:

         (a) Addiction Counseling,

         (b) School Counseling and

         (c) Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

  • While each concentration has similar core course requirements, there are some important differences. The Addiction Counseling concentration prepares students to work effectively in various treatment settings and with a variety of addictive behaviors.
  • School Counseling concentration prepares students to be effective educational leaders while providing a variety of counseling services to children and adolescents in both public and private schools.
  • Clinical Mental Health Counseling concentration prepares students to provide a variety of counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults through agencies, nonprofit organizations, corporations, and private practice. Finally, students can add-on to each of these areas a concentration in Play Therapy.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a related subject from a recognized university.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required on a 4.0 scale to be eligible for the program.

Indian Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
  • Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
