UNC-Charlotte awards two scholarships in recognition of international students' contributions to the UNC Charlotte campus community every year.

  • Morrow Scholarship: This is offered to international undergraduate students. Minimum 60 credits in an academic year are required as of January of the year before applying for the award. The applicants should have a minimum 3.0 GPA (85%) The scholarship amount is 1,000 USD.
  • International Graduate Student Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to graduate students. Eligible candidates must be enrolled for at least one semester at the university. A minimum GPA of 3.8 (96%) is required for this scholarship of 1,000 USD.

Work While you Study

International students in F-1 or J-1 status enrolled in academic courses/programs are authorized to work part-time on-campus for up to 20 hours per week on campus during the academic year. They can also work full-time for 40 hours per week during the summer vacation if they aren’t enrolled in summer classes.
