Created in 1946, the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering is one of the founding departments of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University at Buffalo. They are committed to research and educational excellence across a broad range of industrial and systems engineering disciplines - including operations research, production systems, manufacturing, quality, simulation, and human factors.
They provide students with unique skills in data analytics, optimization, simulation, logistics, and human factors engineering to address important societal challenges in healthcare, security and defence, critical infrastructure resilience, transportation, and advanced manufacturing.
