The University at Buffalo, Department of Geography faculty and students seek solutions to tomorrow’s global challenges today through innovative research in natural and social sciences.

The UB Geography Department offers five specializations:

• Environmental and Earth Systems Science
• Geographic Information Science
• Health and Human Geography
• International Trade, International Business, and Economic/Human Geography
• Urban and Regional Studies

These instructional specializations have been tailored to capture growth segments within the discipline, as well as to maximize employment opportunities for students. Students may choose and are encouraged to pursue a general geography degree program that allows them to design a personalized program of study.
