Likes
- Diversity of students (Mostly now-a-days in the US, there are many indians in the universities. But here it is not like that we do have interaction with people from different nationalities which is very good aspect of development)
- Teaching staff
- Facilities at the college
Dislikes
- City ( Birmingham is one of the top unsafe cities of America. So have to be very cautious all time)
- No fee reduction on getting TA ships
- Not many hackathons take place at the campus.
Campus Life
-
There are around 18 campuses inside my college. You can check them on the university website. I will not be able to provide all the details over here.
-
I will list few of them:
College of Arts and Sciences.
Collat school of business
School of Dentistry
School of Education
School of Engineering
The Graduate school
School of health professions
Honors college etc.
Accommodation
- I found my accommodation through groups on Telegram.
- I already mentioned my rent and other expenses previously in one of the questions.
- I struggled to find suitable roommates to live with.
- Make sure that the people whom you are living with share a good vibe with you. It is very important.
- My accommodation is just 10 mins walk from the campus.

- I did my undergrad here and loved it and I was familiar with the professor.
Campus Life
There are a lot of clubs for any interest and some fun events. Lots of research groups, great exercise equipment and nice wifi.
Accommodation
I do not live on campus but the apartments in the area are kind of expensive.
Accommodation
Campus dorms were alright, they were nice but the freshmen dorms didn't have kitchens, which made things hard. I have enjoyed living off-campus in an apartment much more, largely because I do have a full kitchen.
They were so personal and helpful to me during the admissions process. I can tell they care about me and my success as a student. My advisor is wonderful and always so excited about where I'm going with my life.
Accommodation
I live on campus and it is very convenient to be right across the lawn from my class. I will be living off campus next year because it is cheaper and will be easier to Pay in monthly installments rather than all at once.
They have one of the best nursing schools and a great medical reputation. They provide lots of opportunities for research. UAB is very diverse and welcoming to every student that comes there. It feels like a home away from home!
Football school looked fun on tv good scholarships are given big Greek life presence on campus a plethora of options for majors and minors. Research and shadowing opportunities were plentiful. A huge quad and all the buildings are in walking distance of each other.
This college is close to my home and it offered a great scholarship package. I want to practice law in Alabama, so it made sense to attend here. I went to a large university, so having a large university feel with the smaller law school community appealed to me.
