They were so personal and helpful to me during the admissions process. I can tell they care about me and my success as a student. My advisor is wonderful and always so excited about where I'm going with my life.
Course Curriculum :
I think the curriculum is very fair, preparing students for both medical school and research careers. It provides a solid foundation for the subject as well as course requirements giving you a rounded understanding of the material.
Exams :
I took the SAT and scored in 1430 and I took the ACT and scored a 32. I plan to take the GRE next year.
Placement :
Many successful students go into UAB medical school. UAB?s forensic science master's program also boasts high job placement invaluable positions, some even coming in while students are still in their undergraduate years.
Internship :
UAB does provide internship opportunities but as of yet, I have not undertaken one. There are many different opportunities on campus and off-campus, and the departmental faculty are well informed on the opportunities available to students.
Events :
The school is very diverse and so there are many different cultural events all year celebrating the many different cultures represented on campus. The return of the football team last year also warranted a big celebration. The school also celebrates academic achievement in its students as well.
Fees :
Tuition is a reasonable price, although out of state tuition is a bit extreme. Any lab classes come with an additional fee, as well as online classes. There is also a mandatory campus dining fee each semester.
Scholarship :
I have received a scholarship that brings me down to in-state tuition levels but that is all. The process was really easy, as I was automatically offered the scholarship solely based on my test scores. There is also a single application to fill out that enrols you for consideration to all scholarships available.
Examination Structure :
All of my classes have had very fair exams. General and Organic Chemistry students take the National ACS exams and tend to perform well, as we are well prepared for them in class. Each professor has the liberty to create their own exams according to their class structure, and they've all been very good.
Faculty :
The faculty, I have been in contact with are phenomenal. Many of my professors care about their students and teachers so that we understand, and my advisors definitely take the time to get in touch with me and make sure I'm informed on what I need to be doing to work towards graduation.
Hostel :
Campus dorms were alright, they were nice but the freshmen dorms didn't have kitchens, which made things hard. I have enjoyed living off-campus in an apartment much more, largely because I do have a full kitchen.
