I chose Drexel for the co-op program and also because I planned to transfer before I started and my counselor told me a private school would be easier to transfer from.
Course Curriculum :
My syllabus and course curriculum is updated and relevant to my major. There is a lot of hands-on experience. I do wish there were more major-related courses and less core curriculum requirements.
Exams :
CV, 2 LoR. My LoRs were both from my high school professors. The common app essay topic I chose was to write about the biggest struggle I have faced. I wrote about the health issues I have had.
Placement :
They are very good because of the co-op program. A lot of students get offered full-time jobs by their co-op employers.
Internship :
FMC Corporation. $23 per hour.
Events :
There is a lot of up and coming construction on campus and expansion so in a few years it should be a lot more developed. There are many options for extracurricular activities of different types such as social justice or professional clubs and Greek life.
Fees :
Approximately $70,000 per year so a total of around $280,000.
Scholarship :
I was automatically considered for merit scholarship and for the Founder?s scholarship worth $5,700 per quarter which is $22,800 for the year.
Faculty :
There are classes that are 1:12 and also courses that are 1:50+. The ratios are usually suitable for the type of class. Most of the professors are very approachable. Margene Peterson, Bradford Sodowick, and Joel Maxcy that impacted my time at Drexel.
Hostel :
I don't live on campus. I live in Evo at Cire Center South. My rent on campus was around $950 per month and off-campus is $1,400.
