- Being one of the top universities in the USA, the program I was in provided me with a proper blend of business analytics and project management skills, which drove me to accept admission from UCONN.
- Being one of the top state universities in the USA, UCONN is very organized with the coursework and has industry leaders as professors. Interacting with such leaders of the business world and gaining knowledge from this is really a plus for any student and thats what i like the most.
Dislikes
- Our campus is situated in the Downtown of Hartford, CT where as the main campus is in Storrs, CT. I really wish our classes also were based out of the main campus in Storrs, CT as it feels like a proper university atmosphere apart from just attending classes out of a building in the city.
Required Exams for Admission
The university does provide a proper structured coursework which would touch on all parts of the basics. With the professors' real time experience and intellect, the course starts to make more sense. Apart from coursework, there are a couple of networking events the university organizes which are actually helpful for the students.
Course Curriculum
The course work is well up to date and does provide interaction with lecturers who are actual business leaders. Their expertise mixed with the course context provides proper insights about the business world.
Faculty
At maximum, there would be 45-50 students in a class. Sometimes it may even be 25-30 depending upon the course and how many students are enrolled in the course.
Campus Life
UCONN, School of Business does not have a big campus apart from just a building in the Downtown of Hartford, but UCONN Storrs has a very big campus which will provide the experience of an actual state university in the USA.
Placement
It depends upon the candidates. The university does organize job fairs, but I'd say networking and being out there marketing yourself is the key.
Accommodation
I didn't stay at the university dorm. Most of the students choose to stay in private apartments near the college and the cost of accommodation varies according to the apartments. I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with 3 other people. It costed us $2200 for the whole apartment. So, its approximately $550 per head.
Exams
My scores: GRE 310, IELTS 7.0. I do not exactly know how the university takes in account for the scores. I submitted one SOP, 2 LORs and my CV. I would say SOP is the most important and you need to include points such as why this university and what made you choose this university amongst a lot of other universities.
Fees
I would say the course fee costed me around INR 30 lakhs.
