Aditya Kulkarni Review at Santa Clara University [SCU], Santa Clara | Collegedunia

Santa Clara Bronco

Overall experience at the university was great. I learned a lot and the faculty and staff was also very helpful. The university has the best infrastructure compare to other universities. There are many clubs and events to support students coming in every quarter.

Course Curriculum :

The course curriculum is thorough but also comparatively easy. If your focus is to get job in the States then you should apply to SCU. You can choose your courses from the variety of subjects available. It is also possible to register for a research project affiliated with some industry under certain professors.

Exams :

I did take GRE 315 and TOEFL 109. I did take GRE two time and the first time I scored 305. I don't remember my individual scores. LOR and SOP is not required for Santa Clara University. All you need is good grades in your undergrad and GRE. As I said the university only requires GRE and TOEFL scores. The average score to get admit from the university is 309. No interview is needed.

Placement :

The placement was very tough during our batch. But the overall placement depends on the individual and not the university because companies don't approach university. They do have career fair but very few companies attend that or at least did during our time because of COVID probably.

Internship :

I interned at eBay for summer 2022 and worked as a SDE. My stipend was $51/hour.

Fees :

Total fees I paid during my Masters was around $52,000.

Scholarship :

I haven't receive any scholarship but once you enroll in the university you can enroll in Teaching Assistance program which then pays for your tuitions.

Faculty :

It's up to the individual if he wants to learn or just get done with the course work. There are few professors who don't bother you with lot of course work and are lenient while others who are pretty strict.

Campus Life :

There are countless number of clubs, events and extra curricular activities to participate. Al though it is up to you how much you want to get involved. The library is huge and it is fun to study there.

Hostel :

I stay at apartment nearby. I share a Master bedroom with one other student. The rent is $800 and the total rent for the unit(2B2B) is $3355.
