Magadh University M.Ed Admission 2024 will start soon at the official website. M.Ed is a 2-years course offered by the Department of Education, Magadh University. Magadh University M.Ed Admission is strictly based on merit of the qualifying exam. The candidates for the PI round are selected based on the M.Ed Entrance Exam conducted by MU. Selected students are called for the personal interview conducted by the University itself. The basic eligibility criteria for the M.Ed course is a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks. Magadh University M.Ed Admission Criteria

  • The selection of candidates for the M.Ed course is strictly based on merit acquired in the Entrance Exam conducted by the University. 
  • Students must secure at least 50% marks in the Entrance Exam to get into the merit list. 
  • The list of candidates for the counselling process are declared after the results are announced. 

Magadh University M.Ed Application Process

Following points discuss the process of applying for the course:

  1. Visit the official website of Magadh University.
  2. Under the “Admissions” tab, click the course name i.e., M.Ed.
  3. From the new page thus opened, download the Admission form in PDF format and print a copy of the form.
  4. Students are required to fill the Application form manually in Capital Letters.
  5. A Bank Draft issued from a nationalized bank in favour of "Director, Department of Education, M.U., Bodhgaya" payable at Bodhgaya needs to be created to pay the Application Fees.
    1. Application Fees for GEN category and Non-Domicile students of Bihar: INR 1,000/-.
    2. Application Fees for SC/ST/OBC with Domicile of Bihar: INR 500/-
  6. After completing the above procedure, the candidates are required to mail the application form along with the bank draft to the University on its mailing address.
  7. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC category with Domicile of Bihar state, are required to attach an attested copy of the Caste Certificate acquired from the competent authority to claim the reservation policy.
  8. Candidates must send the Application form well in advance to avoid any delivery delay or any discrepancy in the admission process.

Magadh University M.Ed Course Details

  • The course is streamlined and well-programmed to inculcate the specialization and research capabilities in the field of education.
  • Designed to impart theoretical as well as practical knowledge and understanding of the Education Field.
  • Involves compulsory dissertation/ Internship to give the field immersion experience to the students.
  • Delivered by distinguished faculty along with appropriate pedagogy enables personal and professional growth of every student.
  • Attendance Policy: It is mandatory for the students to maintain at least 80% attendance in the theory classes and 90% attendance in the field immersion/ internship programme.
  • Course Content: General Credit pattern for the course is as followed:
    • The course comprises 22 papers carrying 2000 marks in total over the period of 2-years.
    • 44 credits for core papers
    • 20 credits for specialization
    • 12 credits for Internship (4 credits in teacher education institute + 4 credits in specialization + 4 credit for practical activities throughout the course).
    • 8 credits for research leading to the dissertation. Dissertation will carry 200 marks in total.

Magadh University M.Ed Scholarship

  • Scholarship/ Fee Exemption: Since the course is self-financed, there are currently no provisions for fee exemption programmes or any other charges for any category student.
  • Reservation: Magadh University follows Government prescribed rules for providing Reservation.
    • Relaxation in the qualifying marks is provided in favour of students belonging to the reserved category such as SC/ST/OBC.
    • In case a student belongs to a reserved category but does not pose a domicile of Bihar state, in such scenario, concerned students will be treated as General category students and will be exempted from the reservation policy.
    •  3% seats are reserved for Physically Challenged Candidates. Percentage of Disability is taken into consideration at the time of selection
      • 1% for Visually Impaired
      • 1% for Hearing Impaired
      • 1% for Orthopedically Handicapped
    • These reserved seats for Physically Challenged Candidates are within the intake limit and their respective general or reserved category.
    • Students belonging to the reserved category are requested to submit the certification of declaration stating their belongingness to the reserved category from an authorised official of the state.
