What Students Say
Likes
- The university is in central London, location is easily accessible.
- Fee is affordable and less comparable to other's Uni. However, the difference is not significant but still less fee.
- During my term campus was flooded with Asian students but still it was diverse and had a chance to interact with real international students.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure is really old and needs an upgrade.
- Career support is minimal, and no training and internships are available.
- The counselling team provide support but it's really insignificant.
My reasons were to go for the cheapest options as I wanted to sponsor my education on my own. Overall was good, I learned a lot and made some awesome friends. To be honest I was an average student with not much corporate Industry experience, getting a UK visa was easier for me as it's an English-speaking country with lots of opportunities and easier to get access for friends and family. Talking about the extracurricular opportunities there are a lot of options available to go for outings and do sporting events which I really enjoy exploring.
Course Curriculum
Don't expect the university to spoon-feed you with everything. They will provide you with essential resources such as libraries, required software, tools and computer labs. Will go through the modules mentioned in the curriculum as a student you need to research and learn by yourself and also find out if those modules can train you to get a job in a competitive market. Further wants to add, UK industries look more look into experience and skills rather than education, Academics are just a necessary requirement to get into a role.
Faculty
It all depends upon the course some programmes attract more students rather than others. Faculty will be definitely available for each module. Yes, they help you refer and find opportunities.
Campus Life
Campus life is good, students are warm, responsive and interactive, infra is a bit old especially the buildings are really really old. The university doesn't organise much by itself but if you have an interest in activities you can approach cultural and people head they will definitely encourage your enthusiasm and arrange a gathering or event in response.
Placement
Do not expect much but definitely, uni appreciates talent and skills and offers suitable roles within campus to such people. However, depends upon vacancy.
Accommodation
I lived in a private accommodation. It was a house share on a monthly basis my share was 600 GBP including taxes and my accommodation was 30-40 minutes away from my campus. FYI, students are exempted from all kinds of bills except for gas and electricity.
Exams
- Application form along with SOP(Statement of Purpose), English Proficiency Test score (IELT - 6.5 overall I scored, 6.0 was required), an interview post shortlisting of application form, and proof of funds. - 10th grade(CBSE) - 60%; 12th grade(CBSE) - 61% B.tech- E.C branch- UPTU- 61% - Requirements: Be honest about yourself and your purpose of achieving the education. They just want to know if students really want this education or just choose this as a medium to enter the UK.
