I chose the university for its expertise in the Engineering domain. My experience at the university was great. The educational system here is very different from that of India. There is a lot more importance given to self-study, and as you are required to write a research paper as an assignment on the topics that require a lot of reading, published articles give you more current information on that particular topic as you are self-learning it.
Course Curriculum :
The final dissertation was the key highlight of my curriculum, as you have to make a project on a real-life problem statement, which you yourself have to find out.
Exams :
- IELTS 6.5 minimum, Average CGPA 7, SOP, LOR , and transcripts - Grade 10 ICSE = 85%, Maharashtra state Board, 12th = 69% Mumbai university RGIT BSc Mechanical Engineering = 8.01 CGPA - Requirements: SOP should be very clear and honest. It should be changed according to each University and the Course that you apply for. LORs - Minimum 3 is considered good Make sure you take LORs from people who have really worked with EG, not from a principal or HOD you have never worked with or have even participated in any activity; it just sounds fake.
Placement :
There is no spoon-feeding in terms of placements, as there are no campus placements or recruitments. The university does help with CV building, and there are job fairs where you can interact with the company representatives and their recruitment process.
Fees :
18,000 pounds
Faculty :
You have a course director for your entire course who is going to supervise you throughout the semester. Module leaders for each module have two assistant professors in each module. Also, you have guest lectures for each module on various topics covered in that particular module. You have professors assigned to a special day for each subject, where you walk in for a question session.
Campus Life :
The Campus life was extremely good as the university has the best infrastructure. There are many student events throughout the year in which you can participate and get to know new people from various parts of the world.
Hostel :
I lived in a student apartment with a rent of 120 pounds per week. It was an ensuite room with a common kitchen, but everything else was private. This was inclusive of all bills, including your water , electricity, and wifi.
