What Students Say
Likes
- I chose Newcastle University because I got the exact course I wanted to study and I also heard good reviews from my previous university alumni
- Newcastle University is quite student friendly, starting from rise in cost of living to mental health issues it offers several resources to overcome these adversities for students. There are a ton of events going on throughout the year along with several job fairs and part time job fairs to help students.
Dislikes
- When compared to Indian universities, there is hardly anything to dislike but as International students requiring ATAS for Visa clearance, if the process would have been a bit quicker then it would have been great. Although it's not entirely on the University, but looking at the previous stats University can think of issuing necessary information for ATAS a bit early than usual.
Required Exams for Admission
I had an amazing experience overall, got to learn and re learn several things besides academics. Got exposed to many opportunities and looking forward to make use of those.
Course Curriculum
The syllabus is extremely relevant and up to date . But the moan game changer is the solid 5 months research experience in a lab.
Faculty
It varies from course to course, for me it was usually 1:15.
Campus Life
Newcastle University has quite high end research facilities and the infrastructure is very good. There are several clubs and a ton of events goes on throughout the year. Libraries are top notch and very well equipped.
Placement
Compared to home students, international students does have less opportunities but the university helps a lot with it's constant job alert, job fairs, career services. For my stream big pharma companies like GSK, GE visited during job fairs. Job salary depends on the job type but usually ranges from 25-35k pounds.
Accommodation
I chose private accommodations and booked via Uniacco.
