Housing at Lund University is mainly targeted at international degree-seeking or exchange students. LU Accommodation though does not guarantee housing for all international students, a housing guarantee may be in general offered to following student groups:

Lund University Accommodations at Malmo

Sweden’s 3rd largest city, Malmo offers LU accommodation at Folkets Parks. The Folket park has 5 twin rooms and 26 studio flats. The maximum number of tenants allowed at Malmo LU Accommodations are 36.

Cost: Studio-flats at Folket park cost 4,259 to 5,282 SEK a month while twin rooms at the Folket park cost 6,375 to 6,680 SEK a month.

Lund University Accommodations at Helsingborg

Situated close to the sea, the city of Helsingborg has two major housing options to offer to international students. These are discussed in detail below:

Furutorpsgatan and Södergatan: 24 studio apartments and 3 twin rooms and can house around 30 tenants.
1. The cost of studio flats is around 5,410 to 5,618 SEK a month
2. Twin rooms cost around 5,826 SEK a month.
Ostra Vallgatan: Provides shared accommodations with Swedish students to international students. It has 11 corridor rooms with private showers. It costs around 3,742 SEK a month.

Applying for Lund University Accommodations

International students taking admissions with Lund University can apply for the housing opportunities twice a year- Spring and Autumn.

Who can Apply for LU Accommodations?

International students who are either enrolling with a full-time program at Lund University or are exchange students or are arriving through agreement projects are open to apply for housing applications with LU.

When to Apply for LU Accommodations?

Accommodation application periods for Lund University follow the cycle of admission for exchange and students applying to masters courses. The application process is usually open for 25-days. Applications periods are broadly divided into two groups:

Application Group One: Exchange students, international credit mobility program students, and study abroad applicants are required to apply for the housing applications in this group. The application for this group begins April 1, 2021 and ends April 25, 2021.

Application Group Two: International students enrolling with UG courses at LU, or PG courses or double degrees or the one’s participating in European joint Master’s programs. The applications for the same begin May 3, 2021 and close by may 10, 2021.

How to Apply for LU Accommodations?

The applications for housing opportunities with Lund University can be broken down into 5 easy steps.

Registered a housing account
Create a housing application with personal details, information of your studies, 5 housing preferences, and special requirements
Wait for a confirmation email with a summary of your application
Allocations begin once the applications have closed
You can be either given a room or offer or placed in the waiting list as per the allocation results.

For those who do not find accommodations on-campus, you can choose to live in Sweden off-campus. Accommodations can cost anywhere from 2,500 SEK to 6,500 SEK a month depending on the location and the type of accommodation you choose.
