Students looking for admission in Swedish University are required to have specific eligibility criteria and follow certain guidelines. Linköping University offers around 27 PG and 1 UG programs for international students.

Basic Admission Requirements

International students get admission by student exchange program. Applicants must go through the following steps to complete a successful application:

1. Choose a suitable program.
2. Create an account on the university’s admission page for submitting the application.
3. Pay the application fee.
4. Submit relevant documents required for particular choice of program

Documents required include:

• Official transcripts
• Certificates, mark sheets and diplomas from bachelor studies
• English language test score
• Copy of Passport or other ID

English Proficiency Test Scores

Applicants must demonstrate their ability in English for both Bachelor and Master programs. For applicants who have not obtained Swedish education, can appear any of these globally accepted tests to demonstrate English skills:

Visa Process for International Students

Applicants may need a Swedish residency permit for studying more than 3 months in Sweden. Students are advised to apply well in advance to ensure that request is processed in due course. As soon as applicants are admitted to the University, they must begin to arrange the paperwork to ensure that all are in order on time to arrive.

1. Pay the first installment of their tuition fees to process the application.
2. Apply online via Swedish Migration Agency’s website(applications take 3 months to process)
3. Applicants are called for an interview at the Swedish embassy.
4. Documents required to be carried at the time of interview:
   • A valid passport
   • Proof of admission in full-time studies
   • Proof of financial support
   • Healthcare insurance policy
   • Invitation or proof of acceptance from the university.
   • Show intention to leave the country within the last day before the visa expires.
   • Passport format photograph
   • English Language Test Score
   • Any other documents that the embassy asks for.

The Swedish Residence Permit cannot be issued to students from outside the EU / EEA participating in the Distance Programs.
