Saman Zahid Review at Linkoping University [LIU], Linkoping | Collegedunia

Experience as an International Student

Because of the program, it's offering. Very few universities are offering this program, especially at affordable fees. I had been interested in data science and was looking for relevant programs. Then I checked the course structure of this program while searching for one. I liked it. Then I tried to find the requirements and it was too easy to apply. So I did.

Exams :

Having a bachelor's in computer science exempted me from the requirement of IELTS at the time of admission. That's why I did not attempt any of these exams so I don't have any score to mention here. The rules at the time of my admission were different, it's not the same now. Now IELTS score matters a lot.

Placement :

Many events are conducted throughout the year in which several companies showcase there work and offer ex jobs to students. These events are very helpful to connect students with companies and gather the core idea of the company's work.

Internship :

Yes. The institute offers internship/on-campus jobs such as lab assistants or teaching assistants as well as research assistants. They offer a good stipend for it. The eligibility criteria for a teaching assistant or lab assistant is of course that a student must have good grades in the relevant course. For the research assistant, the relevant skills are required. For example data PHP, python.

Fees :

There are scholarships offered by the university in most of the programs. That's, not the only scholarship. The Swedish government also offers an SI scholarship to the appropriate candidates. The type of scholarship offered by university differs. It varies from 25% to 75% scholarship. Though SI scholarship is 100%.

Faculty :

They are highly knowledgeable people with friends and helping nature. It's good to read the researches conducted by the teachers. Moreover, the professors or associate professors help you also in finding a good research topic.

Hostel :

In the beginning, I took university accommodation. It was shared accommodation so it was comparatively cheaper. Later my contract with the university ended and I had to leave the accommodation. It was a problem for a while but when I got the odd job (the newspaper sorting/distribution ) then it was okay to pay the rent of separate accommodation.
