K.R.C.T review

Remarks :

The college has pros and cons. The student has to make use of the resources that are available in the college to the fullest potential. The student should be determined to learn not only for exams but for job too. They should not only rely on jobs that are provided by college. But they must explore various career paths that are available in today's world. The college also needs to improve it's infrastructure so that it can become a placement hub and many deserving students can get placed in the companies they truly deserve.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Since the college is affiliated to Anna University, it follows the course curriculum prescribed by Anna University and also the exam patterns as per Anna University and the exams are conducted by the Anna University on a semester basis. The exam structure can be divided in to two parts, first part is a section containing ten two mark questions which is for 20 marks and the second part contains five 16 mark questions for 80 marks. The student pass mark depends on his internal marks.

Placement Experience :

Placements in I.T companies arranged by college is low. Only Two or three major I.T companies visit our campus. Few startup companies visit our campus. For other companies opportunities are provided through off campus announcements. No core company especially electronic companies visit our campus. During 7th semester if the student is enrolled in placement program then the student is made to prepare for the placements for the entire semester.

College Events :

Our college hosts a wide variety of events. There are Intra Department events that are conducted on 2 day basis that includes various technical and non technical events which are fun intriguing and are great. There is a cultural event which is filled with fun and enjoymen. There are sports and Annual day events which are also conducted.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

There are two fees structures, one is for counselling students and the other for management students for counselling students the college charges the fee as per the fee structure fixed by the Anna University to which my college is affiliated to. For management student the fee structure varies depending upon the student's 12th mark and requirements.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Several banks are offering Educational loans to worthy students. Major banks offer part of the education fee as loan or total fee amount as loan. Students can approach the banks and they have to provide the adequate documents as requested by the banks so that they can avail this loan facility.

Campus Life :

There is a basket ball court which is good. There is a gym in college which is good. Generally put the infrastructure still needs to be improved. Cricket and football grounds must be developed on top class level and must be maintained. There are badminton courts and there are rooms for several indoor games left me carrom, table tennis, chess etc. Extracurricular activities has to be encouraged in a much greater proportion than what they are encouraged now. The labs are equipped as per Anna University guidelines so that students can do the lab exercises. But the labs still need improvements to be made so that students can make use of them and can become productive.

Alumni/Alumna :

I'm not quite sure about it. That depends on the individuals. Some individuals are there who are really ready to help the fresher's and those if they need any information or help. Those individuals are approachable and can be contacted. But I'm not sure about alumni network.

Admission :

After securing 1065 in 12th standard, I wanted to do engineering. I was looking for engineering colleges in trichy which could take me. Then my parents they came across K.RamaKrishnan College of Technology and they wanted me to join there. So we went to the college seeking for admission. I was eligible for Bachelor's degree program in Electronics and Communications Engineering in management quota. So I applied for that degree and joined the college and did my U.G course in K.R.C.T

Faculty :

Some faculties are good. They are very friendly, they make the student feel relaxed and they make sure that there is a good relationship that is maintained. Some faculties are average and some facilities need improvements. Generally the student has to be interactive and ensure that he gets the best out of facilities.

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
