My View on Yenepoya University, Bangalore Campus

Dislikes

  • Attendance is a major priority, if you have less attendance then you might not be able to write the exam

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum is set by themselves as they are a deemed to be University, the curriculum felt updated and felt suitable for real world applications and further academic pursuits whereas not like in other colleges which are still teaching the same outdated syllabus. Exams are held every month and the difficulty is not as much as anticipated so, I would suggest exams to not be a concern and just concentrate in class.

Internships Opportunities :

I am a first year student do not have much idea about the internships and stipends offered, so I am not able to elaborate on this topic. I will edit this review after enquiring and knowing more about them. But internships and stipends are offered here!

Placement Experience :

I think students are eligible for campus placements from 4th or 5th semester. Many companies visit yenepoya for various offers. I think the average offer placed as of now is 4LPA. And I am not sure about the percentage of students getting places. I plan to take up mba after completing my bca degree

Fees and Financial Aid :

Course fees depends on the Course and specializations chosen, for BCA specialization in cloud computing, cyber security and ethical hacking-IBM, the fees for the first year is 1,95,000 and the second and third year is 1,67,500 which adds up to a total of 5,30,000 for the whole course. There was an registration fees of 26000. As of yet I haven't faced any other charges. I am in the first year and will be completing my first semester in the coming month.

Campus Life :

There are various clubs and festivals held here just like in any other college. A few of the clubs are Rotaract club, YenShield club and the YenRobo club which can be joined by anyone irrespective of their course and expertise, the technologies inside the classroom are up to date and modern, as classes are smart classrooms. Various extra curricular activities are offered such as football, cricket, basketball etc.

Admission :

I had applied to a few other colleges such as LPU but I ended up not proceeding with the admission there as they did not provide many specialization as yenepoya provides, Yenepoya University also have tie-ups and connections with many multi national companies like IBM, TCS and Microsoft from whom the students can get hands on training experience and lectures. The overall admission process was easy and not too much of a hassle for me.

Faculty :

Faculty members are very friendly and easy going and easy to approach. All the faculties felt fun for me. When it comes to studies some faculties are strict, they will be strict inside the class and fun outside the class. There are 3 exams a semester. Two internal assessment which is followed by the semester exam.

Placement Experience:

As a former student of this institution, I am compelled to share my disillusioning experience. The college's brochure boasted impressive placement statistics, but the reality was starkly different. Out of 240 students in my batch, a mere 10-15 secured job placements, resulting in an abysmal placement ratio of approximately 4-6. This was a clear indication of the institution's failure to deliver on its promises. The brochure's claims of "excellent placement opportunities" and "top-notch companies" were nothing more than a marketing gimmick. Only one tech company visited our campus, offering a modest package of 3.6 LPA, while the remaining companies were sales-based with negligible packages that hardly justified the effort and investment put into earning a degree.
