Course Curriculum Overview :
Made the decision to choose the course purely out of my own interest and commitment to become a doctor. Even though the faculties are helpful you require a lot of hardwork and perseverance to prepare yourself for the outside world. The amount of interest you take upon yourself determines your future. 2 internals and a model exam with atleast 2 months interval during every year. University exam at the end of the year. Mid year university exams available for those who fail to clear the regular exams. Seperate supplementary batch and classes for such students. 6 months back applicable for students who fail to clear more than 1 paper in the university exams. Not applicable for final year part 1. Failing to clear even 1 paper in the final year part 2 exams can lead to the back. 1 year compulsory internship (CRRI) after the course to be certified of course completion.
Internships Opportunities :
Mandatory CRRI (compulsory rotary residential internship) of 1 year duration (exact 365 days) 1 casual leave/ month. Stipend- 4.5k/month. Clinical Quota, projects and seminar should be completed to attain the certification.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tuition fee- 300000/year Hostel&mess fee- 96000/year (deduction available for sc, st and oec students) Scholarship available for keralites under sc, st and oec categories under ugc grants Eligible candidates can apply for and avail ugc scholarships (obc category) NRI quota- tuition fee- 500000
Campus Life :
CDE programs and monthly clinical club programs conducted. Re- skill workshops to enhance clinical skills. Annual sports and arts fest observation We take active part in inter-college, inter-zonal as well as university arts as wellbas sports meet The students union takes active part in observing every special occasions including festivals, Halloween, ethnic day and colege day. Dental and medical related books and journals available in the Library. Fictional book section also available. wi-fi in every department
Hostel Facilities :
Shared hostel room for three inmates. Personal Cot, table, chair and shelf available. Attached washroom also available. Fait quality food. Registration to become a hostel inmate can be done during the time of admission. Hostel fee is 96000/year (reduction available for sc, st and oec students according to the Kerala govt policy) Plenty of PGs and villas are available nearby. College Bus available in edappal and kutippuram route.
Admission :
Applied through the keam allotment pricedure after qualifying neet ug entrance exam. This college was my first choice of preference due to its location close to my hometown. Eligibility - qualify neet ug entrance test
Faculty :
Faculty:Student ratio varies with the requirement of each department. Fair as per my experience. Friendly faculties who guide us are present Exam schedules including internals and models including both theory and practicals help us to prepare better for the university exams which are comparitively difficult to clear. Course curriculum enables us to improve both theory knowledge as well as practical skills.
