VIT Mumbai - It may and may not be the best for you

Dislikes

  • The connectivity: It's not well connected with railway. The only option for all students is to travel by bus.
  • The complexity of academics: Students need to login on 4-5 websites daily to check their academic work. No teacher instructs properly how to and where to manage the academic load.

Course Curriculum Overview :

1. It was the best possible option for my percentile, that's why I chose this course in VIT. 2. Moderately. It teaches some useful basics of real world applications but the softwares they teach are outdated. 3. The teachers should explain the students the concept instead of just reading out what's written in the ppt.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees I've paid in Institutional Round for 1st Year: [Open Category] Tution Fees: 1,32,609/- Development Fees: 19,891/- University Funds: 768/- Other than Maharashtra Eligibility Fees: 300/- Enrollment Fees: 200/- My some [OBC] batchmates have to pay fees in the range of 75,000

Campus Life :

There are too many commitees related to technical field like ECSA, ETSA, FinTech, Google Dev Groups, and CSI-VIT. They organize many events such as podcasts, speeches, and workshops. Sports and music is somehow ignored in this college. Although, it's a very good chance to socialize for everyone.

Admission :

I wanted to go to VJTI but couldn't go due to high cutoffs for General category this year. I came to knew about the Institutional Round of VIT Mumbai and hence filled the form. In the round, I got a good branch and took admission. I later applied for SPIT, PICT also but got none due to high cutoffs.

Faculty :

1. Faculty to student ratio: 1:70 2. Mandar Sohani sir is the best faculty I found. He has a great knowledge in programming and teaches in a way everyone understands. 3. Leena ma'am and Nilesh Deokar sir. They just read out the ppt in front of classroom and explain nothing. 4. There are 2 Mid Sem Exams and 1 End Sem Exam for each semester. I don't know the difficulty yet because I gave none.

Placement Experience:

When the students are in there final year then most of the students apply for the job interview but the students who gained some skills and have pracitical experience in their field then only they will get selected in vapus placements. lot of companies visit to the college and offer jobs but asks for strong resume and skills in the students.

Remarks:

All faculties are good in college. But the campus is not so big. In one campus there is school for 1 to 10 standard. And in same campus there is an MBA college and also a college of 12 science, arts.

Remarks:

he placements were pretty well. There were many students who were placed in MNCs. Most of the companies were IT based companies. Amongst all, only 1 core electronics company came to our college for recruitments. The highest package was around 4 LAP. Our college also provides opportunities for other off-campus drives which took place nearer to Solapur. The companies that came to the campus were mainly MNCs providing an average package of 2.5 LPA which is pretty well for a fresher graduated from a non-government college
