  • I disliked that there are not much extra curricular activities like sports dancing in our department

Course Curriculum Overview :

As law is all about practical knowledge and is based on reason i think the curriculum includes all the aspects that are required for the real world advocacy. We are taught with every act and law and presentations are held for practical application of the law. Every subject be it contract, torts, BNS, BNSS, International law, Jurisprudence all are very important. Exams are held after every 5-6 months/ every semester and usually there is a gap of a day or two between each exam.

Internships Opportunities :

The college provides internships under many companies as advocates. This helps to shape students knowledge and expand experience. The companys engage students in various advocay works and students can apply for internship according to their specialisation in the subject

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The total tuition fee for the course is 1.64 lakh with approximately 17000 per year for old university students and 19000 per year for new registrations. It increases by 2000 or 3000 every year. The course provides many placement opportunities for the students and also conducts many competitions essential for advocacy

Campus Life :

The department provides great opportunities for other activities and to expand your experience and skills. It has many socities like the moot court society, the debating society etc all of which shape a person's oratory's skills and also research knowledge. University holds many annual festivals like the cultural festival, youth festival, heritage items, sports meet etc. Students participate in all these activities and certificates are also provided. The university has one main library that is AC Joshi library whichnis open 24/7 for students to sit there and study whenever they want. All range of books are available in the library pertaining to all the courses and also besides the course and academic hooks one can find many books on various prestigious authors. Every department in particular also has a library of their own which includes the books of that particular course and also extra books of various authors. One can issue any hook from library and use it to read any time.

Admission :

I applied for Panjab University because it was easy for me to like in Chandigarh asbi have been living here for about 5 years. Also the reputation and placement opportunities are also what attracted me about it. The main reason that I didn't opt for other universities or college is merely the city. The admission process of LLB includes a 100 marks entrance examination which is objective. A total of 300 seats are available out of which 150 are for general and other 150 for reserved categories. Cutoff varies every year and ranges between 60-70. I had a great admission experience as i studied really hard to crack the entrance exam and did so by securing AIR 33.

Faculty :

The faculty to student relationship is great. All the teachers are really helpful and are very interactive with the students. They are always ready to solve any doubt you have and are of a friendly nature so you don't feel shy to approach them with any question. There are total of 5 exams and they are all based on your legal knowledge. Their level is between easy to medium and with proper study one easily passes all the exams. Only those 1-2 students who fail to study fail otherwise everyone passes the exams

Placement Experience:

Placement is not as good as compared to other universities. It provides low package like 35000 per month . Median salary is 2.2 lakhs . Placements also depend on the CV of the students and marks he/they got in the university exams. In law particularly , lesser number of student pursue placement in Panjab University. The average package offered is 3 - 4 lac per annum . Some of the companies that frequently visit are Ernst & young , Infosys , wipro , vodaphone , Adobe etc .

Remarks:

The Institute and the University are the best University in the entire region. Management of the University is quite cooperative in giving solutions to any issue faced by students individually. The system is so transparent in the University that anyone can meet directly the hon'ble Chancellor of the university.

Remarks:

Negative: The Department lacks somewhere in the Infrastructure, as in the number of class rooms are less and there’s no proper parking for students. Positive: If you make it to UILS, than I don’t think so u’ll ever regret for anything such is the atmosphere and the ambience and that is the reason why a student even forgets about the lack of infrastructure of the department.
