Course Curriculum Overview :
1. The aspects of this curriculum that influenced me in choosing this course is that; it teaches all the core concepts of all the necessary Software and Hardware working of a Computer Machine and all its Applications. 2. This curriculum prepares me the best for the future real world applications and further academic pursuits. 3. The areas of improvement can be that, some of the faculties needs to get their behaviour improved, as it is absolutely necessary for them to do so, in order to maintain a much better and healthy relationship between students and them. 4. The frequency and timings of exams as compared to difficulty level of examination is much good. Because the much there is assessment, the more the student shines better in his or her knowledge.
Placement Experience :
1. Students can apply from the first semester itself, if they wish to work. But, for the campus placement, one needs to complete his/her course with a good GPA score or percentage in order to land a job im reputed company. 2. The companies that visited here are Wipro, Cisco, Amazon, Google, etc. they offer good positions and package. But afterall, it all depends upon the skills and well being of the candidate about how he/she will make it up. 3. I actually don't know much about the highest package offered here, but the average salary is well about 6LPA. 4. Not sure about it yet. 5. I want to land a good job with good salary package and well settled environment as soon as I get my Master's Degree.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
1. The year-wise fees that I have paid for my course i.e. First Year Masters of Computer Applications (M.C.A.) in my college i.e. Department of Computer Science, Pune University is 50,543/- (For OBC Category). 2. The year-wise Tuition fees for the course is 19,650/- Laboratory fees is 26,200/- Registration fees 37.50/- and Admission fees 25.00/- and the compulsory charges are applicable as per the Elective Subject that we choose in our Semester (This data is for OBC Category). 3. Fees for Management Quota is 70,542/- For SC and ST Category it is 3960/- 4. Scholarships are offered at various number of times. The majorly offered Scholarship Schemes are Chatrapathi Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Nirvah Bhatta which offers a 70% return of fees and other charges like hostel, etc. Which are paid during the admissions, also, there are other Maharashtra State Level and India National Level scholarships too.
Campus Life :
1. There are not much Annual Functions held in the college as much as I know currently. 2. There is a vast library for accessing books and journals in the college campus. 3. There are good facilities and technological provisions in the classrooms such as Projectors, Multiple smart blackboards, etc. 4. There are not many of the interesting extra-curricular activities provided by the college. 5. N/A
Hostel Facilities :
1. There is just a fan, and beds. We have to carry our own mattress and pillow, bedsheets, etc. over there. 2. The meals provided there is a token based program, where we have to pay for our meal each time we go there. Talking about the quality, the quality of meal is average. 3. We can opt in for hostel allotment while applying for admission, the hostel allotment is based on merit calculated through the marks that we score in CET or College Entrance Examination. 4. The locality where I have rented a PG is Gokhale Nagar, Pune.
Admission :
1. I did apply for many other colleges like D.Y. Patil College of Engineering, Modern College of Engineering, Pune Cambridge University, IMCC, JSPM, etc. But I chose to take admission in the Department of Computer Science, Pune University because of its significance in the IT Sector and because it had fulfilled all the criteria that I cited while taking admission. 2. No, I didn't get rejection from any college, but my first preference was to be here in the Department of Computer Science, Pune University. So, I didn't make it up to any other colleges. 3. The eligibility to get admission here is, the candidate must be a graduate in Computer Science or relatable field, he/she has to either clear his/her CET Examination or has to appear for an Entrance Exam which is conducted by the college itself and then the admission is decided upon merit basis. The cutoff is very high as this is one of the most reputed and one of the most oldest running college of Pune. Overall, process is good.
Faculty :
1. The Faculty to Student ratio is roughly like 1 is to 20. The Faculty to Student relationship is good to be honest. The faculties are really good and very much approachable. 2. The faculties that I liked the most in my recent interactions is Mrs. Reshma Pingale Madam who teaches Processors Architecture and Programming. 3. The faculties that I didn't like actually is Mrs. Jyoti, as she was too rude in the beginning and that's the reason I didn't like her behaviour from the very beginning. 4. There are basically 4 exams in a year (2 mid-sems and 2 term-end). These exam are found to be difficult to crack, as the curriculum taught here is applicable to all the Colleges and Institutions that come under the Savitribai Phule Pune University. The course curriculum is very relatable as it provides detailed knowledge about what an IT and CS Professional must have.
