  • The campus is situated about 2kms away from the highway ,making it difficult to access. The second issue related with this isolation is the difficulty in finding vehicles for transport .
  • Since it's a forest area , there are lot of monkeys ,cows ,etc . Monkeys try to snatch food .

Course Curriculum Overview :

I have always loved the subject of endodontics and that is what motivates me to join the course. I also love surgery. The curriculum prepared us quite well for the outside world. But if I had to suggest improvements ,it would be to use advanced technology which would be relevant and find its use in clinical practice . We still have a lot of outdated concepts being taught ,which can be replaced. For example, amalgam restorations, IOPAR, extra oral radiographic techniques , etc. Instead of these, emphasis could be laid on composite restoration, RVG etc The 3 internals are conducted once every 3 months and final exam happens once a year. As I have mentioned earlier ,going through previous years question papers and learning your skills thoroughly should suffice to achieve a good score in the exams

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I secured a seat in this college under government quota and so I'm paying 1,46,000 every year. The fees has not increased since the time I have joined. This fee is divided into 2 parts. Karnataka examination authority demands a few of 90,000 per year and college fees(tuition fee) is 56,000. Apart from these , we have to spend about 10,000 on instruments each year (which we will be buying from outside) . The miscellaneous expenses ( food, records , stationery, etc) comes upto another 10000. I belong to general merit and so this was my fees. Now coming to SC, ST and OBC , they have the facility of applying for an SSP scholarship . The amount awarded in the this scholarship can range from 12000 to reimbursement of full fee depending on merit. The fees for private quota students would be around 4 lakhs and for management seat 6 lakhs .

Campus Life :

All the major festivals and events like valintes day are celebrated our college. An annual fest called krisdentz ,which includes sports and culturals is a major interest for all the staff and students. The college also offers gym facilities, playground, badminton court, etc. We have a huge library containing all the relevant books and jounals to help students expand their knowledge base.

Admission :

We write NEET exam to join the medical courses . My rank in NEET was pretty bad ( around 4 lakhs ) ., so I did not get a seat until I reached the mop up round . We have a system of counselling where we choose our college preferences and submit them ,and based on our rank, we get accepted or rejected from those colleges. To secure a seat in dental, you need to have a rank of below 1 lakh. During my counselling , this was the only college available in Bangalore. I did not want to move outside of Bangalore and so I ended up choosing it

Faculty :

Faculty of this college are pretty good. They are very approachable and are more than happy to help you out with any problem. The only issue I faced during my college years is the discrimination between boys and girls. They seem to favour boys in any situation, but I think that would be a normal thing when we consider the patriarchal structure of society. The faculties that I really like would be Dr Suhana , Dr Anagha, Dr Aparna .All 3 of them are very very sweet and will help you out in any way they can . There is no faculty I did not like ,as they only scold you if you have done something wrong. But none of them carry it forward. We have a concept of 3 internals and one final exam. The average of internals marks is considered for the final exam score. The division of marks for theory would be 70- theory paper, 10- internals and 20- theory viva . For practicals ,it is 90- practical exam and 10- internals. Course curriculum is relevant to the exams conducted.

Placement Experience:

For our course and college we have to complete our bonds after internship .So after our internship we have to apply for bond completion in any esic college the place is our choice and based on our academics we get the bond in those hospitals . The avg salary package os aroung 1.5 lakh per month during our bond year ,the students getting the bond is upto 70 percent . After the bond it depends on us if we want to write the neet mds exam for completing our further mds studies and after that u can do fellowship Superfellowship and practice it totally depends on the individual choice . I personally would join dental corps after bond and then write the exam and try for getting admission in afmc college as i want to pursue to become an army dental officer, it is tough .Till internship the student will have got a lot of practice for them to compete for the outside world .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main reason I choose the course was. I did not get a medical seat and was not able to afford it. But once I entered BDS, it was Beautiful. From the very first year, there are pre-clinical, prosthodontics, and dental material. You will be having three internals and one final external. Internals will be conducted by the college itself but externals will be conducted by the University. If you ask me to rate the difficulty, I would say 4/5. You need to work harder for every exam from the internals themselves. Both internal and external will be consisting of practicals. In the final external, 100 marks for the theory exam and 100 marks for practical will be awarded. But pre clinical consists of practical only. No theory will be conducted. They allow you 3 hours to answer two 10 marks, eight 5 marks, and five 2 marks questions. There will be four categories of passing. Distinction, First class, second class and fail. One subject backlog can be carried. But more than one backlog will be 6 months.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Faculties are amazing. There are lectures, professors, and doctors who are highly qualified and experienced in practical and theoretical knowledge. There are at least 15 lecturers and 4 to 5 doctors in each department. The student is 80 to 100 in each academic year. Exams are Highly important there and taken exactly on time. Three sessionals per year and One University at the end, with practical and vivas. Teaching is done through ppt, slide method.
