Course Curriculum Overview :

The course I've chosen is BBA and it is a professional course. Not only do they teach about the subject matter of BBA, they also prepare us for the real corporate life and also for the business sector. The course has moderate difficulty but with little bit understanding it becomes very clear and easy to grasp. They also take us to industrial visits to show us how factories and management sectors in a business function. Seminars are also conducted and successful entrepreneurs, businessmen and industrialists visit and give us their relevant insights about the real world. The exams of mid sem and end sem have 2months gap between them and the college gives notes and enough preparation time for both the exams

Internships Opportunities :

The college placement cell provides various internship opportunities throughout the year. They also help students find suitable internships when approached to them. This is to help students gain experience and understand how things actually work in corporate world. The stipend paid is around 7-8k and there are also unpaid internship opportunities just to gain experience. The contract period ranges from 3months to 6months

Placement Experience :

The placement opportunities are huge. Students are getting placed at their dream companies. Big 4 comes for hiring students from campus and deserving candidates are selected. The placement process starts in the final year and all students with 75% attendance and no backlog are eligible for placement. The average package is around 6-7lakhs with the highest being 25lakhs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The base fee for the course of BBA general is 1,05,000rs for Karnataka students and 1,15,000 for non-karnataka students. This fee includes admission fee which will be reduced from second year. There is also and additional fee of 15,000rs if a student opts for languages like german, french and additional english. For 1st year Non-Karnataka student my fee was 1,35,000 and now in second year it is 1,20,000 and I've opted for additional english as my extra subject. There are also merit based scholarships available for deserving students.

Campus Life :

The campus life is one of a kind with mixed crowd from all over India. There is always some event going on in college from some of the clubs and societies in college like the literary society or the business association and much more. They make sure inclusivity is there and all the students participate in the events and give there best. We have flagship events in our college like Swagath, Pratibha, Start up Mela, Corporate Genesis, Neerathon and much more. Apart from this they also have a huge library with arrays of books from all disciplines and anyone with an id card can issue a book. The classrooms are equipped with projectors and black boards.

Admission :

The first problem i faced was that Shoolini University was in Himachal and it would be really difficult to adapt to the climate. Also other factors stopped me from choosing Shoolini over St. Joseph's. The first was that St. Joseph's provide a great learning space for students opting professional courses like BBA and help them interact and meet business officials and entrepreneurs and provide exposure. They have a legacy of 142 years and also after talking to some of the alumnis i came to the decision of choosing St. Joseph's. The admission process is easy and students have to fill form and give an entrance test if there is any for their course and if selected they will be called for the interview round

Faculty :

The faculties are qualified and provide a immersive learning experience and give aid to students who are in need. They also clear each and every doubt and query that students bring in. The course is of 3yrs that is 6 semesters. Each semester we have two exams the mid sem and end sem exams. Apart from this through out the years we are give CIAs(Continuous internal Assessment) to get a better grasp of our subjects. There are 2 CIAs in each semester of 10marks each. They are combined with the mid sem marks of 25marks and then combined into marks out of 40. The end sem exam is of 60marks. They check the answer sheets with proficiency and give marks if the answer is to the point and doesn't stray too much from the topic

Other Applied Colleges

Shoolini University | Bachelor of Business Administration [BBA]

I compared the two universities and realised St. Joseph's provide much more exposure and had better facilities for BBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As like other college the syllabus is same but when it comes to open electives they ask students opinion also about it. They give case study when necessary that can improve your mind and brain skills . Teachers prepare slides and the practical teachers give us problems from the past papers and tough questions that makes it easy for us during the exams

From the 4th semester, the students will become eligible for campus placements. There are few companies which offer campus placement in our college which will offer up to 150-250 placements. And there are the students who will get the placement of 20-40%. I am planning to get a job in the aviation sector after degree completion.

Entrance Preview:

Just the college entrance exam was good enough. At that time not many entrance exams were prevalent so the College entrance exams would suffice.

Placement Experience:

It's quite good as it's one of the reputed colleges in Bangalore and India . Companies like Spectrum, target , Accenture , Wipro visit the college. The package is varying from 2-5 Lakhs per year . The jobs would range from entry level to mid level depending on the degree of the students and past years of experience if any.
